i would uh look to the market first so if it's acceptable to the market that you know i'm not fascinated compliant in the cloud and i don't manage my own data centers it's great i've met ctos that say they will never move to the cloud because the only place they can host is inside a mountain uh that's that's you know thermonuclear proof right identity management for the government and those guys are going to take a long time to come up but what i do know is every single company i know in the val
we literally built our own data centers and we still run most of our operations in our own data centers over a year after we launched that wonderful things like ec2 and mechanical turk and s3 and payment systems on demand systems came out we built most of these things ourselves and in the first couple years of the company
one of the reasons we like the email flow is there are already email standards and security around it and we just plug right into the uh and compliance issues that we have
some of the lessons learned is i think early on i decided the company decided that it's very hard to change user behavior and you know if a user need is not there then don't serve it so what we found is um is it is the risk it's very much a recipient problem so you know we need to figure out if i'm in uh a g chat uh user how can i get non g chat users to accept this file and be able to um to download it
right and it's very much a real time uh collaboration over chat whereas we do more of a uh you know a offline collaboration and that's what we're finding is inside the office over percent of collaboration is offline you know we're not always on chat together working on something right or it's asynchronous
