HomeAway was art with it were they are all the way with VRBO and homo I think VRBO existed yeah vacation rental by owner yeah which was for homes not rooms right bad user experience etc yeah yeah a legacy one web 1.0 business that some of us used to rent homes instead of for families but it wasn't like for travelers or bit certainly not business travelers
it's on the margins they're competing with hotels but in many ways they're bigger than the hotel business because they've induced people to travel more
one of the reasons people are using more ubers than taxis is because they're a lot cheaper yes they're more convenient and they're more cheap
ride-sharing now is bigger in a lot of markets than the taxi business yes so that means that an analysis of uber and lyft and sidecar and some of those early players could never have been accurate because the market had not yet manifested itself with people going full uber and no longer owning a car
I mean I'm sure with uber there were times Travis and I had critical discussion about surge pricing or other things in the early days that were important discussions to have
