that dynamic of I'm talking to a few people but everyone can see it is a really hard problem.
part of what they did with the verified thing was try and preserve that model of it's a place you can post things.
Twitter's norms were set early in a very different way and was one of the reasons we all joined it because it it felt less pressured than blogging.
on Twitter it's like every tweet you read is more famous than any tweet you will write because it's showing you the most popular ones… it amplifies engagement… that means it amplifies the the attacks and the the badness as well.
But the problem is that isn't really how this the world works. Any given tweet can be one of these ones that that takes off and becomes the famous one instantaneously… Twitter's verification doesn't give you any protection.
Twitter has made that choice.
they've said, "Okay, there's a bunch of people that we think um should be verified and have a different experience of Twitter, and then there's a there's a bunch of other people."
There should be a million Twitters. The point is that each each person sees their own set of things that they they would see.
