YouTube was sort of this sacred thing for me where I could put my videos and it felt safe and I didn't pay attention to the community or the culture or the comments or any of the factors except for the fact that here's this pure distribution outlet
I never clicked the monetization button for the first hundred million views on YouTube Wow no pre-rolls no ads I got no evidence checks you know much
the magic of YouTube is that there is no if there is a baton it's handed off so quickly and I do think that I was lucky enough to either hold that baton to be very close to holding that baton for a minute and then just like everybody else it went on to the next and that that constant evolution of YouTube and culture everything is is part of what's so magical about it
do you think that YouTube's founders could have taken to the place that is now without Google I don't think so it was a coin toss so 50-50
