I think you you can see a world where apple is extremely successful in this space and Microsoft and Google and boxy can be with 10 million subscribers and doing great as a company
Apple doesn't do that I mean they're not going to give the software
going head-to-head with Microsoft and Google and Apple so that one probably make you know turn some VCS away
we announced that uh we are working with um with Hulu towards bringing Hulu Plus to our users so hopefully at least this one is behind us
I think the best way for the industry to address it is to say this is the price for watching our content either you have to pay a certain bucks per number of bucks per month or you have to watch certain number of ads but once they establish that price point that should be the same offering across devices and screens
the beef is about the business model the the issue for them and they don't like the idea of you connecting your laptop to to the TV screen either the challenge is that when they um get you to watch it on TV through uh the broadcast channel or cable they get paid um through subscription fees and advertising in a much better way much more appealing way than if you watch it um through the website
I think the reason borrent and other other piracy options are flourishing is because users don't have much options and you know in putting something out there a few months later um with the RM and making it very expensive it's just not you know very appealing offering for users
I think the same will happen across the world if um as soon as a show you know if flost is being aired or you know new episode of 24 and if you're in France or UK or Australia you can get it the same moment legally I think most people will go there
if you look at the numbers for piracy of of TV shows for example the numbers are much much bigger outside the US than in the US especially after services like Hulu and abc.com and nbc.com and so on came out and you could get the show almost as soon as it came out and you know in high quality and very limited number of ads people you know basically start stopping their Bor usage and just watching it um on the web
we definitely want to build boxy as a long-term company that has relationships with with media companies and there are certain lines you do not cross
we're a small team we're trying to get our core product to work properly we're releasing a new you know firmware up update to our C version um in the next couple of days so we're still very focused on just getting what we have right now to work great and Excel on that front and then we can move to you know to additional sources of content
the reason we don't have a tuner in boxy right now and we don't support stuff like conditional access has more to do with focus and resources than you know the Grand Vision
I think you you can see a world where apple is extremely successful in this space and Microsoft and Google and boxy can be with 10 million subscribers and doing great as a company
Apple I think is great if you live in an iTunes world and that's where you get most of your content but you know if you have other sources or other formats Apple falls short
