No person- or entity-level identity check is on record for this company. A name match is not one.
The inclusion bar: two or more independent sourced evidence families. This profile is reachable but not in the ranked index. It is a statement about how much evidence we hold, and about nothing else.
We have not established fit. That is not a soft no and not a soft yes — it is unknown, and it is never counted as a qualified prospect.
No standout signal or flag yet.
No single number decides. Layers can disagree — that's the point. New to this? →
I think RSI maybe related to how much it's kind of hyped is a reason why we are afraid the Frontier Labs will pull away.
there's a lot of data RL environment companies that are doing very, very well, selling both to the top two frontier labs, but an increasing kind of longer tail of labs as well.
When I talk to people at Frontier Labs, there's some people that have amazing jobs. There's some people that contribute by doing a very narrow thing, which is you make a data set and you figure out what the behavior should be for your model in that area.
One thing to remember is that the guys who run these companies are sort of selected for the ones who think, who thought that the problem was about who is holding the leash on the super powerful machine rather than the problem being, how do you actually create a very powerful machine that is shaping the world for good?
Separately, I think it probably doesn't help with marketing. I think that the proposed slowdowns of the frontier labs don't help with regulatory capture because they actually give a lot of other people time to catch up.
It's coming from the Frontier Labs who have learned that every time they put a release out that their products are incredibly powerful and can hack a system, etc., their usage goes up, the embracing of the product goes up, token usage goes up, uh, and then they also probably sincerely feel this way and have been oneshotted by the technology. So, two things can be true.
many of them our customers are still complaining about refusals. And these are big corporations, this is not just startups or individual researchers, it's still big corporations that have access to cyber programs or still having issues with refusals.
the big labs won't even allow you to test that
there's a whole bunch of uh professionals and companies out there that are essentially underserved or unserved by the frontier labs because whether they're in cyber or they're doing biology research or they need synthetic data or defense, all these use cases that essentially uh the frontier labs are essentially shunning.
I have heard from people in Washington that they have been seeking something like that.
I think the apps are going to become much more viable economically, which is great for the ecosystem. There are going to be all these other layers of middleware, call it, right? Which is, hey, what's my memory system? What's my harness and orchestration layer? So there's going to be a very rich tools ecosystem there.
The model companies will do fine. In fact, you know, the Pareto, they can manage the token pricing based on their model family. If anything, I want them to work on even the KV, you know, these standards such that we can use multiple model family. In fact, it's better for them.
And that's good, quite frankly, because without it, I don't think we're going to have a broad frontier ecosystem or broad diffusion, because otherwise, we'll just be back to some mainframe lock-in.
I think the fundamental thing that I think we're observing is good old-fashioned competition, right? I mean, for me, if I look back at it, we had like some real great closed-source assets, Windows. What was the check against it? There was, of course, the Mac, but Linux. We had a great closed-source product called SQL Server. What was the check against it? There was always a substitute called Postgres or MySQL. So I think that's what's happening. A little bit of it is there's real competition bet
The argument is the frontier labs are facing token compression. Fifty bucks for OpenAI's kind of million token output versus I think someone estimated DeepSeek's new is like can go as low as 15 cents for a million tokens of output. Let's call it 60 cents. Ninety-nine percent cost reduction.
I think what the Frontier Labs are saying is we are now going to slow down the pace of, let's say, raw power and shift towards reliability and predictability and, you know, what they call alignment, which I think is good business practice.
In fact, you can have multiple models, and you can look at the COT across those. I think these are all things that I think will become very important.
I mean, I buy the argument that we do not understand the latent space, right? ... So I do think that in that sense, we don't exactly have a complete understanding. That's why, by the way, I also, I don't believe in new release, right? So that's why I think making sure that the COTs are in language that we can all understand. In fact, they're transparent.
And then there is real novel new stuff, right, which is what is this reward hacking that, you know, with these persistent agents and so on. And that's a place where I'll admit that the science is not there. ... So it's an experimental science. And so the more experimental a science is, then you really need to make sure you're doing those experiments in controlled environments.
Then we get to what is, I think, a real issue of safety, and we should take it seriously, which is we should take all the time we want to test things. In fact, I love this idea of having third-party testers. ... the only thing I would say is we should avoid like these, you know, cozy arrangements of who is testing what, who has access to what, and it should be broad.
the other aspect I think that is not talked about when we talk about control is actually the control that, for example, customers have, enterprises or businesses have around this technology. Because sometimes this is so opaque, right, I want to be able to embed my knowledge in a set of weights, eye control, I want to see all of the COT that's being generated, I want to use it to do fine tuning of my own models, my IP shouldn't leak.
the broad diffusion of this technology is the most critical thing because the benefits of this tech showing up everywhere is really what it's all about. So at the end of the day, if you sort of say serving humanity, let it actually reach humanity in ways that it serves humanity. And that means you've got to have choice. You have to have competition. You have to have all kinds of business models, whether they're open weights, close weights, what have you.
