World Labs is a frontier AI research and product company advancing spatial intelligence, the next frontier beyond large language models. Co-founded by Dr. Fei-Fei Li, Justin Johnson and Ben Mildenhall, the company is pioneering world models that perceive, generate, reason, and interact with virtual and physical worlds.
The company’s flagship product, Marble, transforms text, images, and video into fully navigable 3D worlds, unlocking applications across gaming, film, architecture, robotics, and immersive digital experiences. Backed by leading investors and with over $1B raised, World Labs is assembling a world-class team at the intersection of AI research and real-world deployment.
We are looking for a Senior Business Development and Operations Lead to help shape how World Labs brings its robotics technology to market.
This is a highly technical, hands-on business development role at the intersection of Physical AI, simulation, spatial intelligence and enterprise customers. You will be part of our world-class teams partnering closely with research and engineering groups to understand what our technology can do today, where it is heading, and where it can create meaningful value for robotics teams in the real world.
You will own the full lifecycle of strategic and operational customer engagements: from identifying the right problems and shaping the solution to building the commercial relationship and closing the deal.
Market + Technical Understanding
Develop a deep understanding of our robotics technology, its capabilities and limitations, and how the broader robotics and Physical AI ecosystem is evolving.
Identify the customers, use cases, and problems where our technology can create differentiated value, and develop a strong point of view on where the market is heading.
Customer Discovery + Feedback Loop
Spend meaningful time with customers to understand their workflows, technical constraints, deployment environments, and unmet needs firsthand.
Build a tight feedback loop between customers and the team: translate problems back to research and engineering, synthesize patterns, and help distinguish scalable product opportunities from one-off customization.
Commercialization + Closing
Shape and execute early customer engagements, pilots, and partnerships in close collaboration with research, engineering, and product teams.
Own strategic opportunities end to end: from prospecting and discovery through technical evaluation, commercial structure, negotiation, contracting, and close.
Operating + Building the Function
Build the operational foundation for an early commercial function: maintain customer and opportunity pipelines, establish lightweight processes, drive follow-through, unblock dependencies, and make sure commitments get delivered.
8+ years of experience in related industries.
Deep experience in robotics, Physical AI, autonomous systems, simulation, or an adjacent frontier technology, with firsthand exposure to customers, products, or deployments.
Technical fluency to engage credibly with researchers and engineers, with strong curiosity to understand how the technology works and draw connections between technical capabilities and market opportunities.
Strong understanding of the different generations of robotics technology - from traditional automation, through the computer-vision-driven wave of robotics, to today’s frontier in imitation learning, reinforcement learning, robot foundation models, and sim-to-real.
Demonstrated ability to develop and close complex B2B relationships, from ambiguous early conversations through signed agreements.
Strong market and adoption judgment: you understand where new robotics capabilities will find pull first, which customers and use cases to prioritize, and how to sequence entry across markets. You can reason across environments including logistics and warehousing, industrial and scientific labs, electronics manufacturing, automotive, defense, and emerging consumer/home applications.
Ability to turn technical capability into repeatable commercial value: identify the right wedge, business model, pricing, and channel strategy, and build a path from demo → paid PoC → production deployment while avoiding bespoke work that does not scale.
Comfortable quantifying and defending commercial decisions: you can build a credible pipeline forecast, price a pilot, or model a deal structure with real numbers behind it.
Builder mentality. You thrive in the ambiguity of early commercialization, creating the processes, tools, and operating cadence needed while figuring out what works.
Experience being an early or founding commercial hire inside a highly technical organization: you know how to earn credibility with researchers and engineers, not just with enterprise buyers.
Low ego and highly collaborative. You seek the best ideas regardless of where they come from, build closely with the team, and do what is needed to deliver results.
Pursuit of Greatness: You have a high bar for the work and the ambition to help build a category-defining business. You are not satisfied with the obvious answer, are willing to take bold swings, and go beyond what is required to create an exceptional outcome.
Intellectual Honesty: You are deeply curious about customers, technology, and the market. You seek what is true rather than what validates an existing thesis, listen closely to users, and are willing to change your point of view when the evidence changes.
Deliver Results: You own outcomes end to end. You turn conversations into actions, close loops, unblock yourself and others, and get things done—even when the path, process, or ownership is not perfectly defined.
Build Together: You work side by side with research, engineering, product, and operations. You communicate constructively, seek the best idea rather than your idea, and can disagree, commit, and move forward as one team.
Fearless Innovator: We need people who thrive on challenges and aren't afraid to tackle the impossible.
Resilient Builder: Impacting Large World Models isn't a sprint; it's a marathon with hurdles. We're looking for builders who can weather the storms of groundbreaking research and come out stronger.
Mission-Driven Mindset: Everything we do is in service of creating the best spatially intelligent AI systems, and using them to empower people.
Collaborative Spirit: We're building something bigger than any one person. We need team players who can harness the power of collective intelligence.
We're hiring the brightest minds from around the globe to bring diverse perspectives to our cutting-edge work. If you're ready to work on technology that will reshape how machines perceive and interact with the world - then World Labs is your launchpad.
Join us, and let's make history together.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer who thrives at the intersection of product and engineering. You should have strong coding skills across the stack, a deep appreciation for intuitive user experiences, and the technical expertise to design end-to-end systems. In this role, you’ll own product features end-to-end—from ideation through to building responsive, user-centric web apps and backend services. Serving as a \"player-coach,\" you will act as the engineering counterpart to product management to help with technical roadmapping and sprint execution. You will bring crucial software engineering and technical leadership experience to support a highly talented product team that currently leans heavily on design.
Partner directly with product leadership on architectural decisions, sprint planning and technical execution.
Ship focused, user-facing applications and developer tooling end-to-end, owning frontend, backend, and workflow design.
Design and build complex workflows around generative models: chained and parallel generation calls, long-running async operations, streaming results, caching, retries, and graceful degradation around inference that takes seconds to minutes.
Own the deliverable: you set and hold the quality bar for what ships under your name - correctness, performance, polish, and maintainability - and you review others' work to the same standard.
Work directly with users and design partners; instrument what you ship, watch it get used, and iterate fast.
6+ years of software engineering experience (8+ for Staff), with a track record of end-to-end ownership. You've shipped user-facing products, not just components of them, and you've been accountable for their quality in production.
Deep proficiency in modern web application technologies for the frontend (e.g., TypeScript, React) and backend services, with a strong understanding of web architecture; especially in interactive and real-time applications with performance considerations.
Fluency with AI-assisted development workflows, grounded in fundamentals strong enough to verify, correct, and own everything you ship — you use the tools to move faster, not to outsource judgment.
Experience building products on top of asynchronous, long-latency, or streaming APIs.
A product-minded approach: you form opinions about what users need, validate them cheaply, and change course on evidence.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong foundation in computer science principles.
While not required, experience in one or more of the following is a strong plus:
Experience in 3D graphics programming and shader development, particularly web frameworks such as WebGL and three.js.
Experience building applications around generative image, video, or 3D AI models.
Contributions to open-source graphics or machine learning projects.
Experience working in VFX, gaming, 3D design, or other industries that focus on high-fidelity visual outputs.

You will bring crucial software engineering and technical leadership experience to support a highly talented product team that currently leans heavily on design.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\n\n - Partner directly with product leadership on architectural decisions, sprint planning and technical execution.\n\n - Ship focused, user-facing applications and developer tooling end-to-end, owning frontend, backend, and workflow design.\n\n - Design and build complex workflows around generative models: chained and parallel generation calls, long-running async operations, streaming results, caching, retries, and graceful degradation around inference that takes seconds to minutes.\n\n - Own the deliverable: you set and hold the quality bar for what ships under your name - correctness, performance, polish, and maintainability - and you review others' work to the same standard.\n\n - Work directly with users and design partners; instrument what you ship, watch it get used, and iterate fast.\n\n\n\n\nKEY QUALIFICATIONS\n\n - 6+ years of software engineering experience (8+ for Staff), with a track record of end-to-end ownership. You've shipped user-facing products, not just components of them, and you've been accountable for their quality in production.\n\n - Deep proficiency in modern web application technologies for the frontend (e.g., TypeScript, React) and backend services, with a strong understanding of web architecture; especially in interactive and real-time applications with performance considerations.\n\n - Fluency with AI-assisted development workflows, grounded in fundamentals strong enough to verify, correct, and own everything you ship — you use the tools to move faster, not to outsource judgment.\n\n - Experience building products on top of asynchronous, long-latency, or streaming APIs.\n\n - A product-minded approach: you form opinions about what users need, validate them cheaply, and change course on evidence.\n\n - Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong foundation in computer science principles.\n\n\n\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nWhile not required, experience in one or more of the following is a strong plus:\n\n - Experience in 3D graphics programming and shader development, particularly web frameworks such as WebGL and three.js.\n\n - Experience building applications around generative image, video, or 3D AI models.\n\n - Contributions to open-source graphics or machine learning projects.\n\n - Experience working in VFX, gaming, 3D design, or other industries that focus on high-fidelity visual outputs.\n\n\n\n\n\nWHO YOU ARE\n\n - Fearless Innovator: We need people who thrive on challenges and aren't afraid to tackle the impossible.\n\n - Resilient Builder: Impacting Large World Models isn't a sprint; it's a marathon with hurdles. We're looking for builders who can weather the storms of groundbreaking research and come out stronger.\n\n - Mission-Driven Mindset: Everything we do is in service of creating the best spatially intelligent AI systems, and using them to empower people.\n\n - Collaborative Spirit: We're building something bigger than any one person. We need team players who can harness the power of collective intelligence.\n\n \n\nWe're hiring the brightest minds from around the globe to bring diverse perspectives to our cutting-edge work. If you're ready to work on technology that will reshape how machines perceive and interact with the world - then World Labs is your launchpad.\n\nJoin us, and let's make history together.\n\n\n\nLogistics:\n\nLocation: This role is based in San Francisco, California; we work in-person in the office 5 days a week. \n\nVisa sponsorship: We sponsor visas. While we can't guarantee success for every candidate or role, if you're the right fit, we're committed to working through the visa process together.\n\nBenefits: We offer generous health, dental, vision and 401K benefits, flexible PTO, paid parental leave, and relocation support as needed.\n\n \n\nEqual Employment Opportunity\n\nWorld Labs is an equal opportunity employer. Collaborate with reconstruction, simulation, and infrastructure teams to ensure SLAM outputs integrate cleanly with downstream world modeling and rendering pipelines.
Contribute to technical direction by proposing new research ideas, mentoring teammates, and helping define best practices for localization and mapping across the organization.
6+ years of experience working on SLAM, state estimation, robotics perception, or related areas.
Strong foundation in probabilistic estimation, optimization, and geometric vision (e.g., bundle adjustment, factor graphs, Kalman filtering).
Deep experience with one or more SLAM paradigms (visual, visual-inertial, lidar, multi-sensor, or hybrid systems).
Proficiency in Python and/or C++, with hands-on experience building research or production-grade SLAM systems.
Experience with numerical optimization libraries and/or robotics frameworks.
Familiarity with learning-based perception or representation learning and how it can augment classical SLAM pipelines.
Strong understanding of real-world sensor characteristics, calibration, synchronization, and noise modeling.
Proven ability to work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and drive projects from concept through deployment.
A strong sense of ownership and engineering rigor: you care deeply about correctness, stability, and measurable improvements.
Enjoy collaborating with a small, high-caliber team and raising the technical bar through thoughtful design, experimentation, and code quality.

Backed by leading investors and with over $1B raised, World Labs is assembling a world-class team at the intersection of AI research and real-world deployment.
We are looking for a Performance Engineer to make World Labs’ models train and serve as fast as the hardware allows.
Running large generative world models at scale is a novel systems problem. You will find the bottlenecks — in kernels, in the serving path, in the training loop, in how we use our GPUs — and eliminate them. Your ownership is technical and concrete: the throughput you unlock, the latency you cut, the utilization you win back, and the correctness you hold while doing it. You will work up and down the stack, from low-level tensor and kernel optimization to fleet-wide serving efficiency, in close partnership with the researchers whose models you are accelerating.
This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role. You will profile, design, build, and ship code directly.
Optimize inference and serving end to end — latency, throughput, batching, caching, and scheduling — to serve our models efficiently at production scale.
Write and tune GPU kernels (CUDA, Triton) for hot paths; drive kernel fusion, memory- and bandwidth-bound optimization, and low-precision (FP8/INT8) execution.
Optimize training throughput and GPU utilization: parallelism strategies, communication/compute overlap, mixed precision, and eliminating pipeline stalls.
Build performance models, profiling workflows, and observability that make throughput, latency, cost, utilization, and their tradeoffs legible across the stack.
Own numerical correctness across precision, kernel, and hardware changes — treating correctness as part of performance, not separate from it.
Partner with researchers to productionize models for serving and to make experiments run faster and more reliably.
Where needed, work on the distributed systems that training and inference run on — but the core of the job is squeezing the most out of every GPU.
You should excel at the fundamentals below — we index on inference, serving, GPU optimization, and training performance. Distributed-systems breadth is welcome, but secondary.
Strong performance-engineering foundations: profiling, roofline analysis, latency/throughput optimization, and disciplined root-cause investigation.
Deep GPU programming and optimization experience (CUDA and/or Triton) — kernel-level tuning, memory hierarchy, and bandwidth optimization at scale.
Hands-on experience optimizing inference and serving for large models: batching, KV/prompt caching, quantization, and low-latency, high-throughput sampling.
Hands-on experience optimizing training performance: parallelism, distributed communication, mixed/low precision, and utilization.
Working knowledge of ML framework internals (PyTorch and/or JAX; torch.compile, XLA, or similar compiler paths).
Strong proficiency in Python, with the ability to drop into C++/CUDA (and Rust or Go) as the work demands.
High-ownership mindset — you measure yourself by throughput shipped and latency cut, not tickets closed.
Experience at an AI lab or ML-native company, optimizing systems used directly by researchers and productionizing research code.
Low-precision and numerics depth: FP8/INT8 quantization, mixed-precision, and detecting numerical regressions across hardware platforms.
Distributed systems for large-scale training and inference — collective communication (NCCL), interconnects (NVLink), model and tensor parallelism, and fault tolerance. A strong plus, but not a substitute for the core skills above.
Experience serving generative, diffusion, video, or 3D/spatial models — not just text LLMs.
Multi-accelerator experience (GPU plus TPU or Trainium) and partnering with hardware vendors on accelerator capabilities.
Building performance-modeling and observability frameworks for GPU utilization and cost.

Backed by leading investors and with over $1B raised, World Labs is assembling a world-class team at the intersection of AI research and real-world deployment.
World Labs is seeking an Executive Business Partner (EBP) to support the CEO. This is a highly strategic and execution-oriented role designed to create leverage for one of the most influential leaders in AI.
The EBP will operate as a hybrid of Executive Assistant (EA) and Personal Assistant (PA), owning priorities end-to-end, anticipating needs, and ensuring seamless execution across the CEO’s professional landscape, including both World Labs and her ongoing commitments at Stanford.
This is a high-trust role for someone who brings excellent judgment and discretion, is highly detail-oriented without sacrificing speed, and knows how to create leverage in a fast-moving environment with significant internal and external demands. The ideal candidate will not only manage execution, but also act as a force multiplier, reducing cognitive load, driving alignment, and enabling the leadership to focus on the highest-impact priorities.
Own CEO’s calendar end to end: sequence priorities, protect focus time, anticipate conflicts, and exercise sound judgment on what requires her time and attention. Partner closely with the COO and EA/Ops team to coordinate schedules and priorities.
Work very closely with the CEO’s Stanford team on competing conflicts and priorities to ensure a seamless schedule. Coordinate complex internal and external scheduling, including executive meetings, press, speaking engagements, and cross-functional initiatives.
Plan and coordinate meetings, travels, events, and logistics end to end, ensuring the right preparation, context, and follow-through.
Build and maintain a lightweight operating system around priorities, open loops, follow-ups, and key commitments so important work continues moving forward.

Backed by leading investors and with over $1B raised, World Labs is assembling a world-class team at the intersection of AI research and real-world deployment.
About the Role:
We are hiring a Senior Product Engineer who will build and ship new products powered by frontier spatial models. You'll work at the edge of what our models can do, taking ideas from early prototypes to reliable products and APIs that people use, often in weeks rather than months.
This role sits at the intersection of product, research and engineering. You'll often be one of the first engineers on a new product idea. You'll own its technical direction and how the model behaves in the product, and you'll build the evals that show whether users get results they can use.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys ambiguity, works comfortably across the stack, and wants to get new capabilities in front of real users quickly.
What You Will Do
Explore emerging model capabilities with researchers and identify valuable product workflows before a complete specification exists.
Own model behavior in the product, including prompting, conditioning, parameter choices, orchestration, and failure-mode diagnosis.
Build product evals that measure whether users receive usable results.
Ship across the necessary layers: backend or orchestration, public API/SDK and user-facing product.
Work directly with users and own the quality and reliability of what you ship after launch.
What we are looking for
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership across full stack development.
You have shipped a production API or application on top of generative models and owned end-to-end output quality, not only the surrounding plumbing.
You have a meaningful backend or systems depth and can work through the user-facing surface.
You have built or used evaluations for nondeterministic systems and know where those evaluations can mislead you.
You have worked closely with researchers and can turn product evidence into a precise capability request.
You act without waiting for fully specified tickets, while aligning clearly on the product bet and constraints.
Bonus points for:
3D, graphics or vision experience
Public API or SDK experience
Fine-tuning, LoRA or adapter experience
Founding or early-engineer experience
Fearless Innovator: We need people who thrive on challenges and aren't afraid to tackle the impossible.
Resilient Builder: Impacting Large World Models isn't a sprint; it's a marathon with hurdles. We're looking for builders who can weather the storms of groundbreaking research and come out stronger.
