\nWe are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of finance operations, month-end accounting and management reporting within a growing, early-stage business.

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve the foundational infrastructure layer behind ACRA.
\nThis is a deep infrastructure role. You will work across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, storage, service-to-service communication, observability, security boundaries, and production operations. You will be responsible for the systems that everything else depends on: clusters, networks, storage layers, ingress and egress paths, runtime infrastructure, deployment foundations, and operational reliability.
\nInfrastructure is part of the product at Valarian. ACRA only works if the underlying infrastructure is secure, observable, debuggable, resilient, and able to run across cloud, on-premise, bare-metal, sovereign, air-gapped, and customer-managed environments.
\nWe are looking for someone with strong judgement and real production experience. This role values depth, operational correctness, and careful decision-making. You should be comfortable going deep into complex operational problems, understanding failure modes, debugging under pressure, and improving the reliability of the whole platform.

Some of the government and commercial workflows include: increased operational resiliency for mission-critical systems and functions; enabling organisations to more quickly and widely adopt emerging technologies while ensuring the integrity of their intellectual property; information flow during disaster response scenarios, and zero-trust / least-privilege environments for M&A, attorney-client privileged communications, etc. And we’ve only scratched the surface.

\nThe Role
\n\n
In this role, you will help build and operate the backend and platform services behind ACRA: our secure Kubernetes platform for controlled compute, data governance, and AI-driven security operations.
\nYou will work mainly in Go, building services across backend engineering, Kubernetes, platform infrastructure, and security. This includes systems designed for reliability, scale, and security from the start, including how AI can help define, enforce, and reason about security controls.
\nYou will join a focused engineering team that values ownership, direct feedback, and support. You will start with clear areas of work, then take on more autonomy over services and platform direction as you build context.
\nThis is a strong fit for someone who wants to become excellent across backend, platform, Kubernetes, and security, and help build a serious security platform from an early stage.
\nWhat you’ll do:
\nAs part of the team, you will:
\nDevelop backend services, APIs, and platform components using Go.
\nOwn services from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
\nWork with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitOps, and secrets management.
\nBuild platform features for workload isolation, policy enforcement, audit logging, and identity-aware communication.
\nDesign event-driven distributed systems for resilience and scalability.
\nImprove metrics, logging, tracing, and incident response.
\nWork with engineering and product teams to turn requirements into technical solutions.
\nOwn specific platform areas and contribute independently.
\nImprove how the team reviews code, deploys changes, and learns from incidents.
\nBackend engineering experience, with some exposure to Go.
\nExperience building APIs, backend services, or microservices.
\nExperience working with Docker and containers.
\nExperience deploying to, developing on, or building with Kubernetes.
\nUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
\nFamiliarity with GitOps, Argo, container registries, secrets, or deployment security.
\nUnderstanding of event-driven architecture, asynchronous workflows, or distributed systems.
\nSystem design knowledge around reliability, scalability, observability, and failure handling.
\nAbility to debug issues across applications, services, and infrastructure.
\nInterest in why the platform is being built, not just what needs to be implemented.
\nOwnership, curiosity, and ability to work independently.
\nWillingness to learn across backend, platform, infrastructure, and DevOps.
\nNice to have:
\nSecurity, regulated, or high-trust environments such as defence, government, fintech, healthcare, critical infrastructure, or sovereign cloud.
\nKubernetes security areas such as zero trust, workload isolation, identity-aware systems, network policy, service mesh, or policy enforcement.
\nPlatform security practices such as secrets management, supply-chain security, admission control, auditability, and operational evidence.
\nObservability and operations, including metrics, logs, traces, alerting, incident response, and debugging production systems.
\nExperience in startup, platform, infrastructure, or product engineering environments with broad ownership.
\nYou do not need to have worked with all of these. They are areas you may learn and build with us.
