You'll report directly to our CEO, Nick, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with the engineering team led by Andrew.

About Rundoo ℹ️

Our mission is to empower independent supply stores with best-in-class technology. Think of your local hardware store or mom-and-pop nursery—these are our clients. From paint to lumber to flooring, over 200,000 such stores across the country sell over $1T of building materials annually using outdated, on-premises systems. We’re aiming to help them modernize so that they can continue to thrive.

Backed by leading investors including Battery, Bessemer and CRV, we've raised $48M across four rounds and are growing quickly: We're live in over 500 stores across the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean, and integrated with over 20 industry partners. Our team is made up of builders, sellers, and industry veterans with a shared goal: to bring modern technology to an overlooked industry.

About the role 💼

You’ll be based out of our Redwood City office and work in person with the rest of our engineering team. As a Software Engineer, you’ll ship features end-to-end across our stack: a Go backend, a TypeScript/React web app, and React Native mobile apps. Your work goes directly to the supply-store owners and staff who run their businesses on Rundoo every day.

You’ll report to one of our engineering leads and work in a small pod of about 4–5 engineers. You’ll own clearly-scoped projects from start to rollout, get deep in the part of the product your pod owns, and build your system and product intuition with mentorship from senior engineers through pairing and code review. It’s a good fit for someone 1–3 years into their career.

Why co-ops are core to how we build our team 🎓

At Rundoo, hiring co-op students who come back full-time after graduation is core to how we build our team. Students who pair rigorous academics with hands-on co-op experience become builders who have immediate impact and grow quickly. That holds just as true for Marketing Engineering as it does for core Engineering.

We're looking for our first Marketing Engineering intern to help prove out this pipeline. If it's a fit, we're committed to hiring more each term and building the function around you.

Term 📅

Winter 2027: January 4 – April 23.

What You'll Achieve with Us: Ship Marketing Agents and Automations 💼

This isn't about busywork or one-off decks. You'll build the internal tools, agents and automations that power how Rundoo markets itself, and you'll see your work go live every day! This role focuses on internal marketing tooling, not customer-facing product work.

This role focuses on internal marketing tooling, not customer-facing product work.\n\n - Agent & Workflow Development: Help build and maintain automations and agents that generate marketing content (ads, emails, social posts) at scale.\n\n - Data Pipelines & Integrations: Connect the tools in our marketing stack (ads, email, direct mail and more) so data moves between systems accurately and efficiently.\n\n - Campaign Instrumentation: Help instrument and monitor live campaigns so every program, and every dollar of ad spend, can be traced back to pipeline and ARR impact.\n\n - Attribution & Reporting: Help map marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced leads through the funnel: MQL → SQL → Opp → Closed Won.\n\n - Content Systems: Prototype reusable templates and agents for recurring content types (magazine ads, digital postcards, newsletter banners, social posts, flyers) that support our vertical GTM motions.\n\n - Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our Head of Marketing, CEO and vertical PMs to keep automations grounded in real campaign needs.\n\n\n\n\nHARD REQUIREMENTS ☑️\n\n - You're comfortable writing code and can show us a GitHub with example work.\n\n - You're genuinely excited about applying AI and agents to marketing problems, not just interested in marketing as a discipline.\n\n - You're a self-directed builder who can turn a rough campaign idea into a working automation.\n\n - You give in-the-moment feedback to your teammates and enjoy receiving the same.\n\n\n\n\nNICE TO HAVE ⭐\n\n - Experience building data pipelines or integrations that connect tools and move data between systems.\n\n - Experience building workflows with an LLM in the mix, like RAG or scripts that call the Claude or OpenAI APIs.\n\n - Experience deploying simple apps or services (Vercel, Cloudflare Workers, Coder.dev http://Coder.dev or similar).\n\n - Familiarity with marketing and growth concepts (MQLs, attribution, funnel metrics, ad automation).\n\n - Comfort working with coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) to build end-to-end workflows.\n\n\n\n\nINTERVIEW PROCESS 🎤\n\n - Application: must include a GitHub account with example work.\n\n - Intro Call (20 min, remote): Meet Amanda to learn more about each other and talk through your interest in marketing + AI automation.\n\n - Coding Interview (remote): A technical interview with one of our engineers.\n\n - Chat with Titus (15 min, remote): Meet our Head of Marketing, Titus, to talk through the work, our marketing strategy, and what you'd be building.\n\n - Founder Chat (remote): A final conversation with one of our co-founders.\n\n\n\n\nMEET THE TEAM 👥\n\n - Nick (CEO): studied math & computer science at Stanford; worked as a trader at Bridgewater & Citadel and as a PM at Google & Enigma; distantly related to the founder of the Hershey company 🍫\n\n - Titus (Head of Marketing): Over a 15+ year career, I've been the first GTM/Marketing hire at five startups, embedding with founding teams to find product-market fit before the company spends money scaling. I build Marketing & GTM functions from scratch, ship code, close deals, and design the systems that turn early traction into repeatable revenue. Love to 🏂 and 🏍️. Claude 🤖 certified.\n\n - Your peer GTM/vertical PMs\n\n\n\n\nCOMPENSATION 💵\n\n - Base Salary: $98k base; $111k OTE\n\n\n\n\nBENEFITS 🏋️\n\n - Our office is in Redwood City, CA, an 8-minute walk from Caltrain.\n\n - Dog-friendly office! Meet the Rundogs\n\n - There are plenty of housing options nearby.\n\n - Coming from Canada? We'll cover your flight to the U.S., including up to 2 pieces of luggage, and handle your J-1 visa sponsorship.\n\n - Health: $100/month gym stipend\n\n - Meals: Free daily in-office lunch (~$1,000/3 months)\n\n - Learning: Book/course stipend, Libro.fm http://Libro.fm audiobooks, Coursera access\n\n - Culture: Fast-paced, collaborative, product-focused\n\n\nABOUT OUR FOUNDERS 🌲\n\n 1.

Our team is made up of builders, sellers, and industry veterans with a shared goal: to bring modern technology to an overlooked industry.

About the role 💼

We’re hiring a Manager, Implementation to lead the team responsible for getting every new Rundoo customer live and successful. You’ll own implementation outcomes across the business: team attainment, resource allocation, operating cadence, process design, escalation, and forecasting.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who sees implementation as a commercial discipline. You’ll set clear expectations, coach Implementation Managers to own customer outcomes, and build a culture where winning is celebrated and accountability is non-negotiable. You’ll report to our GTM leadership and partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Experience.

Your mandate is simple: help the team reliably hit its number while delivering a clear, client-centered path to go-live.

Our team is made up of builders, sellers, and industry veterans with a shared goal: to bring modern technology to an overlooked industry.

About the role 💼

The role is based in Redwood City, with regular travel to co-op markets, partner events, and stores across the country.

As the Growth Marketing Manager you will own the engine that turns marketing spend into ARR. This is one of a few Rundoo growth marketing roles, so you'll play a key role in shaping the campaigns and strategies we use in the future. Your mandate is to build on the existing demand-generation engine that turns marketing campaigns into qualified pipeline and, ultimately, ARR to help us scale spend and inbound volume into 2027. Together with the Head of Marketing, you’ll plan, launch, and optimize integrated campaigns across owned, earned, and paid channels.

Owned channels include email, website content, and social. Earned channels include third-party mentions, organic articles, and other credible coverage. Paid channels include digital ads, sponsored e-blasts, direct mail, advertorials, print placements, and other targeted media.

You’ll develop audience-focused campaigns, coordinate the right channel mix, and measure performance from engagement through qualified pipeline and closed-won revenue. Partnerships and co-marketing remain valuable parts of the mix, alongside broader demand-generation programs that reach buyers wherever they discover and evaluate Rundoo.

This is a hands-on demand generation role: you’ll build and run integrated campaigns across owned, earned, and paid channels, create and distribute campaign assets, test and refine messaging, and work closely with Sales and Marketing to improve lead quality, attribution, and pipeline results. Initial experiments and early programs are showing signs of traction and contributing to pipeline, creating a strong foundation to learn what works and scale it. You’ll report to the Head of Marketing, who brings the strategy and domain expertise and helps coordinate the team across demand generation, partnerships, and events. You’ll work alongside the Data Science team, who build the enrichment and attribution capabilities behind campaign targeting and measurement. You bring the growth instincts, creative execution, and analytical discipline to turn early momentum into a predictable demand-generation engine that drives qualified pipeline and ARR.

This is a prove-it-and-grow role. Early results point to meaningful potential across campaigns, partnerships, and conferences. As you demonstrate repeatable pipeline impact, the scope, budget, team, and level of the role can grow with it.

What you'll do as the Growth Marketing Manager at Rundoo 🗒️

Requirements ☑️

We care more about whether you can grow pipeline and drive ARR than about a title history. The ideal candidate builds the collateral, works the relationships, and owns a revenue number rather than waiting to be handed a plan.

Interview Process 🎤

  1. Intro Call (30 mins) - Intro conversation with Shannon to get to know you.

  2. Round 1 (remote, 30 mins) Titus, Head of Marketing, will go more in depth on the role and your experience.

  3. Take home exercise (paid) - Develop a demand-generation plan for Rundoo targeting independent farm & feed supply stores. Assume you have a $50,000 and can use paid digital ads, email, direct mail, trade-publication placements, webinars, landing pages, and sales follow-up—but no preferred-vendor sponsorship or partner-distribution access. Design a reusable campaign toolkit with sample audience segments, messaging and offers, creative/copy examples, landing-page and nurture flows, channel mix, budget assumptions, measurement and attribution plan, and a 90-day test-and-scale cadence. Show the funnel math and operating assumptions required to generate $500k in qualified pipeline, including how you will define qualified pipeline, track spend and conversion by channel, and adjust if early results are below plan.

  4. Round 2 (onsite) - Three conversations, plus lunch in our office:

    1. (1 hr) Review your take-home and walk the hiring team through your decisions and assumptions

    2. (30 mins) Conversation with Addy about events and conferences and how you'll work together

    3. (30 mins) Conversation with Zach, one of our Product Managers, about how you'll work cross-functionally with Product.

  5. Final Call (15 mins, remote) - Conversation with our CEO

About the team 👥

Here is the current makeup of our team:

How the marketing pod divides: the Head of Marketing sets strategy and orchestrates; you own the partner and co-op channel and its relationships, the Events & Conferences Specialist owns the conferences and regional events, and Data Science builds the enrichment, data, and attribution that all of it runs on. Marketing creates the conditions and generates MQLs; the SDR team converts them to SQLs.

The ideal candidate builds the collateral, works the relationships, and owns a revenue number rather than waiting to be handed a plan.\n\n\n\n\nCORE COMPETENCIES:\n\n - Hands-on demand-generation marketer - you build audience-focused campaigns across owned, earned, and paid channels, building the assets and managing execution yourself\n\n - Pipeline and revenue focused - you connect campaign performance to qualified pipeline and closed-won ARR, using conversion data and spend efficiency to recommend improvements rather than reporting activity alone\n\n - Strong campaign operator - you manage briefs, budgets, timelines, and follow-up, coordinate teammates and vendors, and reliably carry campaigns from idea to launch to results\n\n - Collaborative across Marketing and Sales - you work with the Head of Marketing on priorities and channel mix, with Sales and SDRs on lead quality and handoffs, and with Data Science on tracking and attribution\n\n - Test-and-iterate mindset - you ship, test messaging, audiences, and offers, and turn what works into repeatable programs; you bring clear recommendations to the Head of Marketing and adapt quickly as you learn\n\n\n\n\nVALUABLE EXPERIENCE\n\n - 3+ years in growth marketing, demand generation, or a revenue-owning marketing role, with a demonstrable track record of driving ARR\n\n - Running multi-channel, full-funnel campaigns and being able to point to the pipeline and ARR they generated\n\n - Building branded collateral and running campaigns (e-blasts, webinars, one-pagers, magazine placements)\n\n - Hands-on with Salesforce: accounts, contacts, campaigns, and how pipeline is tracked and attributed\n\n - Working with a sales team to enable them with account intelligence i.e. MQL signals\n\n - SMB or owner-operator customers, and ideally distributor / co-op / buying-group ecosystems, rather than enterprise targeting\n\n\n\n\nTECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS\n\n - Comfortable in a CRM (Salesforce): accounts, contacts, campaigns, and clean partner-to-pipeline reporting\n\n - Comfortable with spreadsheets, lists, and outreach tooling, and with partnering with a Marketing Engineer on the enrichment behind partner-rep data\n\n - Able to work from Redwood City and travel to stores and events as needed\n\n - Comfort using AI tools to draft collateral, partner outreach, and enablement material at speed\n\n\n\n\nBONUS POINTS 🌟\n\n - Familiarity with paint, hardware, building materials, farm and feed, lawn and garden, or related industries and their media publications (GIE Media, Lawn & Garden Retailer, Hardware Connection, Paint and Decorating Retailer\n\n - Experience negotiating rate cards, sponsorships, or media placements with trade publications\n\n\n\n\nINTERVIEW PROCESS 🎤\n\n 1. Intro Call (30 mins) - Intro conversation with Shannon to get to know you.\n\n 2. Round 1 (remote, 30 mins) Titus, Head of Marketing, will go more in depth on the role and your experience.\n\n 3. Show the funnel math and operating assumptions required to generate $500k in qualified pipeline, including how you will define qualified pipeline, track spend and conversion by channel, and adjust if early results are below plan.\n\n 4. Round 2 (onsite) - Three conversations, plus lunch in our office:\n \n 1. (1 hr) Review your take-home and walk the hiring team through your decisions and assumptions\n \n 2. (30 mins) Conversation with Addy about events and conferences and how you'll work together\n \n 3. (30 mins) Conversation with Zach, one of our Product Managers, about how you'll work cross-functionally with Product.\n\n 5. Over a 15+ year career, I've been the first GTM/Marketing hire at five startups, embedding with founding teams to find product-market fit before the company spends money scaling. I build Marketing & GTM functions from scratch, ship code, close deals, and design the systems that turn early traction into repeatable revenue. Love to 🏂 and 🏍️. Claude 🤖 certified.\n\n - Amrit https://www.linkedin.com/in/amrit-kwatra-87066612a/, Data Science: (Owns the enrichment, data, and attribution plumbing) Studied CS & English at Cornell; Data Scientist at Enigma; Public Interest Technology Fellow at the New York Public Library.
