About the Role

We're hiring Software Engineers for our Product team to build the surfaces our customers depend on — dashboards, admin tooling, billing and spend management, analytics, onboarding, and many other user-facing features that turn OpenRouter into a platform. About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the unified interface for LLMs. We route billions of tokens every month, helping developers and enterprises access, manage, and optimize their AI use across 200+ models and providers — without worrying about lock-in, capacity constraints, downtime, or complex integrations.

Our provider ecosystem — the model labs, inference services, and hardware platforms behind the marketplace — is what makes that possible. New providers reach out constantly, and every conversation is a chance to add supply, diversity, and reliability to the platform.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Partner Development Manager to own the long tail of new and inbound provider conversations and turn them into live integrations. Right now, inbound interest (Twitter/LinkedIn pings, “what’s interesting, what are you providing?” intros) outpaces our capacity to action it. Your job is to be the person who “just goes and does things” — qualifying, scoping, and driving hands-on onboarding so no promising provider slips through the cracks.

This is a tactical, high-velocity, low-ego execution role and the fastest way to learn partnerships from the inside. You’ll talk to providers all day, get technical enough to unblock their integrations, and work across Product, Engineering, and Support to get them shipped.

Own the front door for new provider interest — respond to inbound across channels, run first conversations (“what are you providing, what’s interesting about it?”), and quickly separate high-signal opportunities from noise.\n\n - Source the long tail. Proactively find and reach out to emerging model developers, inference platforms, and GPU/accelerator providers to expand OpenRouter’s supply diversity.\n\n - Drive hands-on onboarding. Take qualified providers from first call to live integration — scoping, coordinating technical setup, checking metadata and pricing accuracy, and unblocking issues as they come up.\n\n - Be technical enough to move fast. Read API docs, troubleshoot integrations, and translate provider needs to our Engineering and Product teams without waiting on someone else.\n\n - Keep the pipeline moving. About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the unified interface for LLMs. We route billions of tokens every month, helping developers and enterprises access, manage, and optimize their AI use across 400+ models and providers — without worrying about lock-in, capacity constraints, downtime, or complex integrations.

Our provider ecosystem is the foundation of that marketplace. As the number of model labs and inference providers we work with grows, the relationships behind them have to scale like a product — with consistent tiers, lifecycles, and standards — not as a set of one-off deals.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Program Manager to turn our Provider Program into a product. Today, provider relationships are managed one at a time; your job is to give them a repeatable structure so the ecosystem scales without adding headcount for every new partner.

You’ll own the standard provider lifecycle end to end — sourcing, onboarding, activation, QBR, and renewal — along with provider tiering (our “buckets”), SLAs, and the compliance cadence that keeps the program trustworthy. You’ll be the one person with context across every partnership, able to run program-wide operations (re-paper all providers, roll out a new compliance attestation, launch a new tier) without pulling individual partnership owners off their accounts.

You’ll also run our flagship programs, starting with MPEAP (Model Provider Early Access Program) and our verified/certified provider tracks. This is a high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Security.

Define and operate the standard path from sourcing → onboarding → activation → QBR → renewal, with clear stage gates, owners, and SLAs.\n\n - Design provider tiering. Build and maintain the tiering framework (the “buckets”) that determines how providers are classified, what they get, and what’s expected of them.\n\n - Build programmatic structure that scales. Turn one-off relationships into repeatable systems — templates, playbooks, self-serve onboarding, and automated provider comms — so the program grows without linear headcount.\n\n - Run cross-program operations. You’re comfortable owning operations that span Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Security, and driving them to closure without formal authority.\n\n - High agency and bias to ship. You take end-to-end ownership, move fast, and thrive in a small, fast-moving team with intentionally fluid boundaries.\n\n - Strong written communication. About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the leading AI routing and infrastructure layer that developers and enterprises use to access, manage, and optimize their AI use across models and providers. We help our customers avoid lock-in, capacity constraints, and unnecessary cost, giving them the flexibility to move fast, scale confidently, and stay future-proof as models evolve.

As enterprise adoption of AI accelerates, OpenRouter sits at the center of how organizations deploy leading open and proprietary models across research, development, and production workloads.

About the Role

We're hiring our first dedicated Enterprise Product Manager to give the world’s largest organizations access to OpenRouter’s market-leading model catalog while keeping them in control of their policies and costs. Too often, we see employees at enterprises stuck using a single model family and unable to experiment with bleeding edge AI capabilities. To clear the path for these customers, you’ll own a broad product surface: identity and access, governance, security, spend controls, admin tooling, and the growth engine that turns organic adoption into a company-wide deployment.

This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of product and go-to-market. You'll work closely with Fortune 100 design partners, translating procurement, security, observability, and compliance requirements into a roadmap that unlocks the next tier of enterprise adoption. You'll partner closely with our Enterprise Account Executives, Forward Deployed Engineers, and Customer Success team to convert deal signal into shipped product. We’ll also give you industry-leading tools: our business processes are built from the ground up to be AI-native and we create room for experimentation across the entire model ecosystem to accelerate our own work.

This role is for you if you have moved a product up-market, navigated security reviews and procurement processes, and felt the difference between a feature that demos well and one that closes an enterprise-wide contract. We're looking for someone with high product taste who has built analytics-heavy, technical products and operated inside a true enterprise, sales-led motion.

Turn their requirements into a roadmap, ship against it, and use them as the forcing function for enterprise-grade quality.\n\n - Build the core enterprise platform: RBAC and granular permissions, SSO/SAML and SCIM provisioning, admin and governance controls, org/team management, data privacy and residency, compliance standards, and the spend controls finance and IT expect.\n\n - Identify opportunities to differentiate OpenRouter for the enterprise by studying emerging trends in AI and making them enterprise-accessible.\n\n - Drive land-and-expand. Design the product motion that grows one team of developers using OpenRouter into an organization-wide rollout.\n\n - Be the voice of the enterprise customer internally. Join sales calls and on-site visits; use that signal to ship what will close deals and make our enterprise customers successful.\n\n - Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, sales, security, and customer success to ship and drive enterprise outcomes.\n\n - Raise the bar on craft. Bring strong product taste and judgment to a surface where trust, clarity, and details directly determine whether an enterprise fully adopts OpenRouter.\n\n\n\nWhat We're Looking For \n\n - 6+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years building enterprise products, and a track record of moving a product up-market.\n\n - You've built analytics-heavy, technically deep products with high taste, ideally at a data/analytics or forward-deployed platform serving sophisticated, technical users.\n\n - You've operated inside a real enterprise, sales-led GTM motion: Fortune 500 customers, multi-stakeholder deals, and the procurement gauntlet that comes with them.\n\n - Fluency with IT, security, and admin buyer personas. You know what it takes to roll out software at scale and what makes a security team say yes.\n\n - Hands-on familiarity with enterprise-readiness primitives: RBAC, SSO/SAML, SCIM, audit logs, and governance/compliance.\n\n - Strong technical judgment. You're comfortable going deep with engineers on infrastructure, APIs, and security tradeoffs.\n\n - High agency and a bias toward action. You talk to customers, you iterate, you ship, and you thrive in a small, fast-moving environment with intentionally fluid team boundaries.\n\n - Excellent written communication and a collaborative working style with engineers, designers, and GTM.\n\n\n\n\nNICE TO HAVE\n\n - Experience selling into or building for regulated industries (finance, healthcare, public sector) and familiarity with frameworks like SOC 2 and HIPAA.\n\n - Experience scaling an enterprise motion from early stage to scale at a high-growth company.\n\n - Familiarity with the AI ecosystem and what enterprises need to deploy it responsibly.\n\n\n\nIf you don't think you meet all of the criteria above but are still interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we're looking for someone who is excited to join the team."},{"id":"9c1cb711-cd17-4d07-9be5-f122c0a865b9","title":"Director, Growth Marketing","department":"Marketing","team":"Marketing","employmentType":"FullTime","location":"Remote (US)","secondaryLocations":[],"publishedAt":"2026-07-24T17:07:07.126+00:00","isListed":true,"isRemote":true,"workplaceType":"Remote","address":{"postalAddress":{"addressCountry":"United States"}},"jobUrl":"https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openrouter/9c1cb711-cd17-4d07-9be5-f122c0a865b9","applyUrl":"https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openrouter/9c1cb711-cd17-4d07-9be5-f122c0a865b9/application","descriptionHtml":"

About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the open AI routing and infrastructure layer that enterprises use to access, manage, and optimize the best large language models across providers—without lock-in, capacity constraints, or unnecessary cost. We power some of the most advanced AI teams in the world by giving them the flexibility to move fast, scale confidently, and stay future-proof as models evolve.

As enterprise adoption of AI accelerates, OpenRouter sits at the center of how organizations operationalize LLMs across research, product, and production workloads.

About the Role

OpenRouter grows because developers find it, try it, and route more of their work through it. More than 10 million users and 250k+ apps process 200T+ tokens on the platform every month, nearly all of it starting in self-serve. You’ll own turning that reach into revenue: more of the right developers discovering OpenRouter, signing up, buying their first credits, and growing their usage.

You’ll run the self-serve growth engine: paid media and sponsorships, AEO/SEO, conversion optimization on key pages and flows, and the measurement and forecasting that keeps it all optimized. That’s roughly 75% of the role. The other 25% is partnering with our enterprise team as an execution and thought partner on demand gen.

This is a Director-level, player/coach role with a paid budget of $5M+ for 2027. In year one you’re hands-on: buying media, shipping tests, building the measurement stack, managing agencies. As the engine proves out, you build the team around it.

The Role

We're looking for a Community Lead to become the heartbeat of OpenRouter's developer community. You will be the person our community knows by name and recognizes in person, the one who is always around, always listening, and always making the community a better place to be.

OpenRouter's Discord is already one of the largest AI communities anywhere. Over 50,000 members, hundreds of threads, and thousands of chats every week. It is THE place where people talk about models, harnesses, new techniques, and projects. Not just OpenRouter, but AI in general.

You are a community person first and a developer at heart. You've built with LLMs, you understand what AI builders care about, and you're fluent in the culture of the spaces where they gather. You will own this Discord and grow our presence across Twitter/X, Reddit, and other community channels, turning an already thriving community into the best place on the internet to be an AI builder.

This is a hands-on, founding community role. In the first 3 months, you will be the primary steward of the community, with the opportunity to shape how the function scales over time. You'll work closely with our DevRel and marketing teams as a complementary, community-focused counterpart.

Everything you do in this role should be 1:n. Instead of hosting one meetup, you create the event kit that lets a community member in any city run their own. Instead of answering the same question ten times, you build the automation that surfaces it once. Instead of personally moderating every channel, you recruit and equip a mod team that scales without you.

The focus is digital first, roughly an 80/20 split between online community work and in-person community events to start.

This role is not about selling or broadcasting. It is about presence, trust, and making OpenRouter's community a place developers genuinely want to be.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Software Engineer on our Trust & Safety team to own the detection, enforcement, and review systems that keep abuse, fraud, malicious users and illegal content off the platform. Millions of LLM requests and a large volume of payments flow through OpenRouter every day, and maintaining the safety, integrity, and trust of our platform is a priority. You’ll build the systems that detect abuse and fraud, the heuristics for automated action and abuse mitigation, the tooling our reviewers act through, and the guardrails that keep us from acting on the wrong account.

You will be responsible for proactive abuse-prevention architecture for a new layer of the AI stack while the abuse patterns are still being invented. The threat model changes quickly, and the systems you build have to catch novel abuse without adding friction for the legitimate developers and enterprises who use our platform. Done well, this work protects millions of daily requests, our provider relationships, and the trust that enterprises place in OpenRouter.

This is a hands-on IC role with broad surface area spanning the inference path, the payments path, internal review tooling, and the data platform underneath all of it. There is little process between you and shipping, and your work has direct consequences for real users, so the bar for judgment is high.

We provide a single control plane for AI: one place to set policy, manage spend, and track usage, cost, and performance across every model and provider.

OpenRouter sits at the center of how developers and organizations discover, evaluate, integrate, and operate the world’s leading open and proprietary models. Increasingly, that access reaches end users through platforms that use OpenRouter as the managed inference layer for their customers.

About the Role

We’re hiring the first Product Manager for OpenRouter Connect. Connect opens a new growth channel by letting partners offer multi-model inference to their customers inside their own products. We’re building a platform for platforms, enabling any company whose customers need inference to integrate and distribute it with the controls and observability that partners and their customers need. Connect is how enterprise and developer tools put the full model catalog in front of their users without building inference, policy enforcement, or usage metering themselves.

You’ll own that surface end to end, working with engineering, design, and our partnerships and go-to-market teams. You’ll spend time with partners, learning what they need to serve their customers and turning that into a roadmap. You’ll own the abstractions that make Connect a product rather than one-off integrations.

This role is for you if you’ve built platform or API products other companies build on, have worked through the identity, policy, and billing questions multi-tenant systems raise, and know the difference between an integration a partner can self-serve in a day and one that stalls.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Nice to Have

If you don’t think you meet all of the criteria above but are still interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we’re looking for someone excited to join the team.

You’ll own prioritization and requirements definition across partner integration and onboarding, provisioning APIs, controls and guardrails partners need per customer and per end user, and usage visibility and billing.\n\n - Set the strategy. Determine and prioritize the target partner segments and define the competitive positioning for each. Set the goals for Connect across partner and end user activation, engagement, and retention.\n\n - Work directly with design partners. Join prospect interest and integration calls, unblock their engineers, and understand partner and end customer needs to determine the roadmap.\n\n - Work with engineering and design to ship. Make scope and sequencing calls to ship fast, iteratively, and with a high bar of quality and developer experience. Ensure Connect is a set of reusable abstractions, not one-off integrations.\n\n - Push platform gaps back into the core. When Connect exposes a missing management endpoint, analytics dimension, or guardrail primitive, drive it into the core product so every OpenRouter customer benefits.\n\n - Shape the commercial model with go-to-market. Partner with our Partnerships and Finance teams on the business model and terms that make Connect a win-win-win for partners, their end customers, and OpenRouter.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n\n - 5+ years of product management or founder experience building platform, API, or infrastructure products that other companies' engineers build on.\n\n - You've shipped partner-delivered, multi-tenant products. Another company integrated, white-labeled, or resold what you built (B2B2B or B2B2Dev), and you've worked through the tenant, identity, and billing questions that come with it.\n\n - A zero-to-one track record. You’ve taken a product from design partners to general availability and are comfortable with the ambiguity, hard tradeoffs, and tight feedback loops that come with it.\n\n - High agency and a bias toward action. You talk to partners, write specs, ship, and iterate on a fast team with fluid boundaries. You write clearly and often.\n\n - Strong technical judgment. You read API specs, call the SDKs yourself, review observability and product metrics, and are opinionated about customer facing api surfaces, auth models, partner integrations, usage metering, and tenant isolation.\n\n\n\n\nNICE TO HAVE\n\n - Time at a developer platform, LLM ops, or AI gateway company, or building the embedded or OEM offering of an infrastructure product.\n\n - Familiarity with the controls partners’ enterprise customers need, such as access, budget, and DLP management.\n\n - Experience-informed opinions on tenant isolation, delegated administration, end-user identity, and per-tenant policy.\n\n - Background in usage-based billing and reporting. You’ve worked on metering, invoicing, or revenue share and understand what finance teams on both sides of a partnership need.\n\n - Existing user of OpenRouter or hands-on familiarity with the model and provider ecosystem.\n\n\n\nIf you don’t think you meet all of the criteria above but are still interested in the job, please apply. About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the leading AI routing and infrastructure layer that enterprises use to access, manage, and optimize the best large language models across providers—without lock-in, capacity constraints, or unnecessary cost. We power the most advanced AI teams in the world by giving them the flexibility to move fast, scale confidently, and stay future-proof as models evolve.

As enterprise adoption of AI accelerates, OpenRouter sits at the center of how organizations operationalize LLMs across research, product, and production workloads.

About the Role

You own our compliance program day to day. Drata and Safebase are yours. SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, and the EU AI Act are yours. You'll report to the Head of IT & Security, and you'll run the program with very little daily management.

The controls are the easy part. The real work is getting an engineer mid-sprint to pull evidence, getting the whole company through training before the deadline, and doing it in a way that makes people take your next request seriously instead of ignoring it. If your ideal job is overseeing a program that someone else operates, this is not the role for you. We are looking for a strategic builder ready to roll up their sleeves.

We also work in a space where the regulation is still being written. A meaningful share of what you'll face has no established playbook, and you'll be the person deciding what a novel requirement actually means for our business.

You’ll grow the team, stay deep in the code, and be OpenRouter’s technical face to the labs and providers we partner with.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\n - Lead the team: hire and grow strong engineers, set the roadmap, stay hands-on in code reviews and incidents, and advocate for the team with leadership.\n\n - Core Provider: own provider adapters, the endpoint lifecycle, and routing. Be the technical counterpart for top providers, run day-zero and stealth launches, and work with GTM, BD, and legal to get providers from signed NDA to live in weeks, not months.\n\n - Multi-Modal: lead the expansion beyond text into image, video, audio, and embeddings, plus realtime and batch inference.\n\n - Benchmarks: own evals and inference quality, and turn that data into routing decisions and direct feedback that makes providers better.\n \n  \n\n\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR \n\n - 4+ years of engineering management experience, including at least one environment where you built or scaled a team during a period of rapid growth.\n\n - Strong technical foundation in distributed systems, API design, and LLM inference. You understand how inference is served (streaming, tool calling, prompt caching, quantization, throughput and latency trade-offs), how provider APIs differ from each other, and what it takes to route millions of requests across hundreds of heterogeneous endpoints.\n\n - Hands-on and comfortable staying that way. You write code, use AI-assisted development tools, and lead by example in a team where everyone ships.\n\n - Comfortable being externally facing. You can sit across from a model lab’s engineering team, negotiate an integration, and represent OpenRouter’s technical requirements without a PM in the room.\n\n - Data-driven about quality. You want benchmarks, evals, and production telemetry deciding which provider gets traffic, not vibes.\n\n - Proven ability to recruit and retain strong engineers. Ideally, you’ve built teams people want to join and you bring a network of talent with you.\n\n - High agency and clear communication. You don’t wait for direction, you identify what matters, make a plan, and drive it forward. You speak up when you disagree and back it with substance.\n\n - Pragmatic about what a lean engineering org actually needs versus what a 500-person org would do. You optimize for speed and clarity, not process.\n \n  \n\n\nNICE TO HAVES \n\n - Experience at an inference provider, model lab, or GPU cloud, or building products on top of many LLM APIs at once.\n\n - Experience with our stack: TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, Postgres, ClickHouse, GCP, or Vercel.\n\n - Background in evals, benchmarking, or routing and load-balancing systems.\n\n - Experience shipping multimodal APIs (image, video, speech, embeddings) or realtime and batch inference.\n\n - Experience running vendor security and compliance reviews (NDA, DPA, SOC 2) as part of a partner onboarding process.\n\n - Existing user of OpenRouter, or active side projects in AI infrastructure or developer tooling.\n \n  \n\nIf you don't think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. OpenRouter is the AI routing and infrastructure layer that AI builders, AI-native startups, and enterprises use to access, manage, and optimize their AI usage through a unified API, billing interface, and analytics platform. We route billions of tokens every month and sit at the center of how organizations operationalize LLMs across research, product, and production workloads.

We are a small team that punches above its weight. Every person here has direct impact on the product and our users.

About the Role

Security reviews are an important part of the enterprise sales process. You’ll help customers evaluate OpenRouter’s security posture by providing clear, accurate, and timely responses throughout the review.

You'll own security review end to end: the questionnaires, the hard architecture questions, the live call where a CISO wants to know exactly what happens to their prompts. You’ll draft most of these materials yourself, ensuring each response is clear, technically accurate, and appropriate for a security audience.

OpenRouter is one of the fastest-moving companies in AI, and we're opening our first office in New York City. You'll set the vision for what it's like to work there, then build it. When a meeting room connects on the first try, a new hire is up and running before lunch on day one, or the wifi holds through an All Hands, that's your work.

You'll join a small team with very high talent density, where everyone owns big problems and ships fast. You'll report to the Head of IT & Security and have the autonomy to make the call without waiting on sign-off. How fast we move depends on our tools working, and in New York, that part is yours.

This role is fully onsite in NYC, five days a week. It isn't hybrid or remote. Walk-up support and office hardware need someone in the room.

The office is only half the job. From NYC you'll also run IT for a global remote workforce: onboarding, access, technical support, and a MacBook fleet across time zones. Some days the office wifi and an urgent offboarding will need you at the same moment, and you'll decide which comes first.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Nice to Have

IT certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or Cisco · familiarity with compliance environments such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or GDPR · experience supporting IT through M&A

About the Role

OpenRouter routes almost a billion requests and more than 20 trillion tokens a day, across 80+ providers and thousands of endpoints. Every one of those providers can degrade, rate-limit, change behavior, or go down without warning. Our customers count on us to absorb that chaos so their apps never notice.

We're hiring our first AI Inference SRE to own the operational health of our provider supply. You'll make sure every endpoint we route to is fast, correct, and available, and that we detect and route around problems before customers do. You'll sit on the Provider Operations team, reporting to the Provider Operations Manager.

Our customers count on us to absorb that chaos so their apps never notice.\n\nWe're hiring our first AI Inference SRE to own the operational health of our provider supply. You'll make sure every endpoint we route to is fast, correct, and available, and that we detect and route around problems before customers do. You'll sit on the Provider Operations team, reporting to the Provider Operations Manager.\n\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\n - Provider health and observability. Build and own monitoring for every provider and endpoint: latency, throughput, error rates, uptime, and output correctness. Set SLOs per provider tier and alert on them.\n\n - Detection and failover. Improve how quickly we detect degraded endpoints, and work with the routing team so traffic shifts away from them automatically.\n\n - Incident response. Own on-call for provider incidents: triage, mitigate, communicate with providers, run postmortems, and drive follow-ups to closure.\n\n - Provider accountability. Turn telemetry into scorecards and SLO reporting that providers act on, and be the technical escalation point when a provider's endpoint is misbehaving.\n\n - Quality regression detection. Build continuous canaries and evals that catch silent regressions (quantization changes, broken tool calling, truncated streams, pricing or usage-reporting mismatches), not just outright downtime.\n\n - Automate the toil. Replace manual provider-ops work (disabling endpoints, capacity changes, deprecations, rate-limit tuning) with safe, auditable tooling.\n\n - Capacity and launch readiness. Build tooling to load-test endpoints before big launches so day-zero traffic doesn't take them down.\n\n\nABOUT YOU\n\n - 4+ years in SRE, production engineering, or infrastructure roles running high-traffic, customer-facing systems.\n\n - Strong with observability tooling and practice: metrics, tracing, logs, SLOs/error budgets, alerting that is always actionable.\n\n - Capable software engineer who prefers writing tools over executing runbooks. TypeScript and/or Python.\n\n - Experienced with distributed systems failure modes: timeouts, retries, backpressure, partial outages, noisy neighbors.\n\n - Calm, clear incident commander who communicates well with external partners under pressure.\n\n - Understands, or is eager to learn deeply, how LLM inference is served: streaming, tool calling, prompt caching, throughput/latency tradeoffs, and how provider APIs differ.\n\n\nNICE TO HAVE\n\n - Experience at an inference provider, model lab, GPU cloud, or API gateway/CDN company.\n\n - Experience with our stack: TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, Postgres, ClickHouse, GCP, Vercel.\n\n - Background in routing, load balancing, or traffic management systems.\n\n - Experience with evals or synthetic monitoring for ML systems."}],"apiVersion":"1"}
