About Gallatin

At Gallatin, we are rebuilding logistics infrastructure for the national security missions of the United States and allied partners. We build AI systems that determine how logistics decisions are made — not just how they're executed. From factory to foxhole, we operate at the layer where data becomes decisions, and decisions make the advantage.

About the Role

We’re looking for an AI/ML Software Engineer to play a foundational role in developing and deploying AI-powered solutions for our core product. You’ll work across the full AI/ML lifecycle—from defining and building models to evaluating and deploying large scale ML pipelines and real-time inference systems—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, real-world AI applications.

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For

Bonus Points

Mission and Identity

We are building the system that enables faster, smarter logistics decisions in contested environments, and we're doing it with a team of seasoned entrepreneurs, operators, and technologists who have built and scaled solutions in this space before. We hold ourselves to an extremely high standard. We value clear thinking, direct communication, and the kind of ownership that doesn't stop until something actually works.

Our mission is to create decision advantage when the stakes are the highest. If we succeed, the system doesn't just run; it gets smarter. We're not building AI for its own sake. We're building it because faster, smarter decisions in the most demanding environments on earth can't wait. If you want to work somewhere the stakes are real and the mission is urgent — you'll fit in here.

Why Gallatin?

The logistics infrastructure that supports America's warfighters and humanitarian disaster responders is overdue for transformation, and we are building it. From defense operations to disaster response, we're solving the hardest problems that keep missions moving when it matters most. Join a team where the mission is the point.

Compensation: Gallatin offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and location. In addition to base salary, we offer a generous equity grant, full healthcare coverage, 401k, unlimited PTO, and the perks of working in a high-caliber, mission-driven environment.

Gallatin is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.

This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. The successful candidate must be able to work in a classified environment when necessary.

We comply with the United States Department of Labor's Pay Transparency provision.

Note: Due to the nature of certain government contracts held by this organization, U.S. citizenship is a requirement for all positions at Gallatin. Proof of citizenship will be required prior to employment if selected.

About the Role

You thrive at the intersection of clean UI execution and real-world impact. As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you craft self-contained, reusable, task-focused components, and approach UI development with a balance of speed, quality, and empathy for the end user. While your focus is on the front end, your grasp of the entire stack is strong enough to contribute ideas, spot architectural tradeoffs, and help shape  how our Navigator platform is designed end to end. You care deeply about Developer Experience, have a strong command of RESTful APIs and testing frameworks, and bring a strong sense of agency to improving code, tooling, and documentation.

About Gallatin

We build AI systems that determine how logistics decisions are made, not just how they're executed. From factory to foxhole, we operate at the layer where data becomes decisions, and decisions make the advantage.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sr. Director, Solutions Architecture to lead the design, deployment, and operation of agentic AI platforms in high-stakes, mission-critical government environments, and to build the team that delivers them. This is a forward-deployed, customer-facing leadership role that sits at the intersection of modern AI technology and national security. It's ideal for someone who has moved fluidly between the operational military world and the commercial defense tech industry.

You'll serve as the primary technical authority with customers and program offices, translating complex mission requirements into scalable, secure architectures, and then rolling up your sleeves to make sure they get built and delivered. You're equally comfortable in a briefing room with senior government stakeholders as you are in a terminal troubleshooting a production system.

You'll also strategize and build Gallatin's forward deployed engineering structure across both pre-sales and post-sales. You'll lead pre-sales engineers who shape solutions and help win work, and post-sales forward deployed engineers who deploy, operate, and scale those solutions at customer sites. You'll define how the team is organized, how work moves from pursuit to delivery, and how the function grows as our customer base does.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Org Building
Build and lead Gallatin's forward deployed engineering organization, spanning pre-sales engineers and post-sales forward deployed engineers. Define the structure, roles, and operating model from first customer conversation through production. Hire, develop, and hold a high bar for engineers who earn trust in the field and deliver under pressure.

Solution Architecture
Conceptualize and design end-to-end technical solutions for customer-facing agentic AI and data platforms tailored to government mission requirements, including classified and austere network environments.

Customer Engagement
Serve as the senior technical point of contact for program offices and mission partners, building credibility and trust through deep technical competence and operational understanding. Map the end-user experience to our software and hardware solutions and be the critical technical translator between customer and our engineering & product teams.

Forward Deployment
Work directly at or alongside customer sites, and lead the engineers who do the same, to deploy, operate, and continuously improve AI/ML enabled software platforms, owning outcomes from initial design through production.

Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with product, engineering, and business development teams to shape roadmaps, respond to RFPs, and ensure delivered solutions align with both mission needs and company strategy.

Compliance & Security
Navigate and drive security architecture requirements including FedRAMP, IL4/IL5/IL6, Zero Trust frameworks, and RMF/ATO processes.

Automate & Optimize
Identify opportunities to reduce manual operations, automate workflows, and improve reliability and scalability of deployed systems to maximize customer experience.

About Gallatin

We build AI systems that determine how logistics decisions are made — not just how they're executed. From factory to foxhole, we operate at the layer where data becomes decisions, and decisions make the advantage.

About the Role

A Mission Development Manager at Gallatin is responsible for identifying, shaping, and advancing mission-aligned growth opportunities across the federal defense, national security, and adjacent commercial markets. The role sits at the intersection of customer discovery, operational problem framing, solution positioning, capture support, and partner coordination.

This role requires understanding how military and government customers define mission problems, how acquisition pathways mature, how operational requirements translate into funded opportunities, and how Gallatin’s Navigator platform can be positioned against priority workflows in sustainment, logistics, mobility, readiness, and mission planning. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will own a defined portfolio — building qualified pipeline, developing customer and partner relationships, shaping early opportunities, supporting capture activities, and ensuring Gallatin’s external growth motion stays grounded in real mission needs.

We are hiring against multiple portfolios now and expect to open additional Mission Development Manager seats as the year progresses. Portfolios are aligned to the markets where Gallatin can move the most logistics readiness in the shortest time:

You are an experienced operator with deep relationships, sharp commercial instincts, and a credible track record of advancing complex enterprise pursuits inside at least one of these portfolios. You bring fluency in AI, data, SaaS, and enterprise software — enough to hold your own in a technical conversation, and enough to translate operator problems into commercial pathways. You are equally at home in a SCIF, a logistics command operations center, a Capitol Hill office, or a Fortune 100 boardroom.

What You'll Do

Mission and Market Development

Customer Discovery and Relationship Development

Opportunity Shaping and Capture Support

Assess partner fit based on customer access, contract position, technical complementarity, reputation, and conflict risk.\n\n - Represent Gallatin in early customer conversations, conferences, industry days, and partner forums.\n\n\n\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR\n\n - 8+ years of mission development, business development, capture, or senior account leadership experience advancing complex technology solutions into the U.S. government, commercial enterprise, or both.\n\n - Demonstrable track record advancing and closing significant contracts and pursuits inside at least one of: (a) Army / SOCOM / Navy, (b) DLA / GSA / TRANSCOM / AMC, (c) federal civilian (DoS, DHS/FEMA, DOE, and adjacent agencies), or (d) large commercial logistics and industrial enablers.\n\n - Deep understanding of how military and government customers define mission problems, how acquisition pathways mature, and how operational requirements translate into funded opportunities.\n\n - Working fluency with the federal acquisition environment — FAR-based contracting, OTAs, IDIQ task orders, SBIR/STTR pathways, and the realities of how programs of record actually get funded and let.\n\n - Domain fluency in AI, data systems, SaaS, and enterprise software — enough to lead a technical conversation with operators, program managers, and engineers, and to translate their problems into commercial pathways.\n\n - Strong, current relationships inside your portfolio at the levels that actually make procurement decisions.\n\n - Track record of building pipeline from a standing start — not just managing inbound or working a handed-down account plan.\n\n - Expert verbal and written communication; able to brief a four-star, a contracting officer, a Senate staffer, and a Fortune 100 executive in the same week and adjust the register without losing the substance.\n\n - Sharp commercial instincts and a high-ownership operating style; you anticipate the next move, surface risks early, and do what it takes to advance the mission.\n\n - Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous, early-stage environment with high autonomy.\n\n - Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.\n\n\n\nBONUS POINTS\n\n - Active U.S. government security clearance (Secret, TS, or TS/SCI).\n\n - U.S. military or government service background — operational, acquisition, J4/G4/N4/A4, or equivalent.\n\n - Prior mission development, BD, or account leadership experience at a defense-tech startup, growth-stage federal contractor, or hyperscale commercial logistics provider.\n\n - Experience advancing AI, data, autonomy, or logistics/sustainment software into your portfolio.\n\n - Existing relationships across primes, systems integrators, and defense innovation organizations (DIU, AFWERX, SOFWERX, NavalX, DEF, etc.) and relevant program offices.\n\n - Familiarity with FMS and international procurement mechanisms.\n\n\n\nMISSION AND IDENTITY\n\nWe are building the system that enables faster, smarter logistics decisions in contested environments, and we're doing it with a team of seasoned entrepreneurs, operators, and technologists who have built and scaled solutions in this space before. About Gallatin

At Gallatin, we are rebuilding defense logistics for the warfighters of the United States and allied forces. We take an AI-first approach to improve defense readiness through software products that streamline and modernize logistics operations from factory to foxhole and result in better decisions and outcomes.

We believe that you won't change the world by phoning it in and as such we work in-office in one of our core engineering locations: El Segundo, CA; Austin, TX, Washington DC, San Francisco, CA

About the Role

The Infrastructure team owns the platform that delivers Navigator to the warfighters who depend on it. Our charter spans Kubernetes clusters in commercial and government cloud, application streaming for thin-client users on classified networks, a unified artifact pipeline that signs and ships the same builds to every environment we operate, and air-gapped appliances at forward sites where Contested Logistics is a daily reality, not a slide.

We're hiring an Infrastructure Engineer who builds security into the systems they operate rather than treating it as a separate workstream. You'll architect, build, and run the platform end to end — writing RFCs and PRDs, reviewing and writing production code alongside Product and Engineering teammates, and owning the outcome when it ships. The work cuts across cloud-native deployments, edge appliances, data platforms, and the application streaming layer that puts Navigator on classified environments. You'll partner with our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) leads and mission owners on STIGs, CVE remediation, audit prep, and the controls work that lets us operate in environments such as IL5, IL6, and JWICS.

Success means a platform that stays up under real operational load, ships trusted artifacts to every profile we run, and passes audits without fire drills.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

What You'll Do

Build and Operate the Platform

Security and Compliance as a Daily Discipline

Collaborate Across Disciplines

What We’re Looking For

People request you by name because you bias toward action. You're a problem-solver by nature who genuinely cares about the mission and the outcome. You operate without hand-holding — you read a problem, weigh the tradeoffs, and move. Sometimes those tradeoffs have harsh consequences you pay for later, but you're resilient and you adapt. When the work crosses into expertise you don't have, you dig into the problem, pull in the right teammates, apply their feedback, and keep going.

Gallatin is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to keep our production systems running with the reliability our national security customers require. You'll work at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and mission-critical uptime — building and operating the systems that turn logistics data into decisions in real time, including in classified and disconnected environments. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who treats reliability as a product: someone who instruments before things break, automates the toil away, and owns incidents from detection through postmortem.

About the Role

We’re looking for an IT Systems Engineer to help build and scale the systems Gallatin employees rely on every day.

As the second dedicated IT hire, you will work across endpoint engineering, identity and access management, SaaS administration, security and compliance, office infrastructure, automation, and employee support. You will own systems end to end and help define how IT operates as Gallatin grows.

This is a broad systems role with a strong endpoint focus. You should be able to operate across macOS, Windows, mobile, identity, and cloud applications, with hands-on experience in Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace, and Okta. Experience managing Windows devices and access controls in Microsoft 365 GCC High is especially important.

The level is flexible. We care more about technical judgment, ownership, and the ability to build reliable systems than a specific title or number of years.

About Gallatin

We build AI systems that determine how logistics decisions are made — not just how they're executed. From factory to foxhole, we operate at the layer where data becomes decisions, and decisions make the advantage.

About the Role

We're looking for a Sales Engineer to help customers across defense, national security, and other complex enterprise environments understand, evaluate, and adopt Navigator. You'll sit at the intersection of Growth, Product, Engineering, and mission operations, and serve as the technical counterpart to our Mission Development Managers (MDMs) throughout the sales cycle.

Our Mission Development Managers own the customer relationship, territory strategy, and commercial progression of an opportunity through award. You own the technical dimension. Together, you'll identify the customer's mission problem, determine whether Gallatin can solve it, demonstrate how Navigator addresses the workflow, and build the confidence required to move from initial interest to deployment. The best Sales Engineers here don't wait for technical questions to come up. They shape the solution, uncover requirements the customer hasn't fully articulated, and build a technically credible path to adoption.

This is not an entry-level role. You're equally comfortable running technical discovery, delivering a tailored demo, talking APIs and data integration with an engineering team, and explaining mission impact to an operational leader. You'll represent Gallatin's technology independently while staying hands-on enough to configure demos, chase down technical questions, and work directly with Product and Engineering.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will build the systems that move a model out of a notebook and into the hands of a planner. Sometimes, that means deploying to an air-gapped rack in a tent instead of a VPC. You will own the path from training run to deployed capability: the infrastructure it runs on, the release process that ships it, the evaluation harness that proves it works, and the telemetry that tells us when it stops working.

Our AI/ML team works across retrieval-grounded systems for doctrine and logistics data, document and feature extraction, military symbol recognition, optimization and movement models, and an LLM agent platform. This role underpins that work: building the infrastructure, release processes, and evaluation systems that make it shippable and keep it honest in production. You will have plenty of room to shape how we build it.

","descriptionPlain":"ABOUT GALLATIN\n\n\nAt Gallatin, we are rebuilding logistics infrastructure for the national security missions of the United States and allied partners. We build AI systems that determine how logistics decisions are made — not just how they're executed. From factory to foxhole, we operate at the layer where data becomes decisions, and decisions make the advantage.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\nIn this role, you will build the systems that move a model out of a notebook and into the hands of a planner. Sometimes, that means deploying to an air-gapped rack in a tent instead of a VPC. You will own the path from training run to deployed capability: the infrastructure it runs on, the release process that ships it, the evaluation harness that proves it works, and the telemetry that tells us when it stops working.\n\nOur AI/ML team works across retrieval-grounded systems for doctrine and logistics data, document and feature extraction, military symbol recognition, optimization and movement models, and an LLM agent platform. This role underpins that work: building the infrastructure, release processes, and evaluation systems that make it shippable and keep it honest in production. You will have plenty of room to shape how we build it.\n\n\n\n\nTRAINING & SERVING INFRASTRUCTURE\n\n - Own model training, fine-tuning, and batch inference infrastructure across AWS (SageMaker, EKS) and on-premises GPU hardware.\n\n - Stand up and tune LLM inference serving: vLLM-class stacks, quantization, continuous batching, KV-cache and throughput sizing. Make the hosted-vs-local call with numbers behind it.\n\n - Build for DDIL: local inference with configurable fallback, degraded-mode behavior, and sane resource envelopes on hardware we do not get to choose. \n\n\nRELEASE & REPRODUCIBILITY \n\n - Build CI/CD for models and pipelines: versioned datasets, a model registry, promotion gates, and rollback that actually works under pressure.\n\n - Own infrastructure as code, containerization, and GitOps deployment across environments ranging from a dev cluster to a disconnected enclave.\n\n - Make reproducibility a hard requirement. Any result we put in front of a customer or evaluator must be reproducible from a commit and dataset version.\n\n\nEVALUATION & OBSERVABILITY \n\n - Build and own the evaluation harness: regression suites for retrieval and extraction pipelines, LLM-as-judge pipelines with measured judge-human agreement, and adversarial and held-out sets.\n\n - Instrument production for drift, latency, cost, retrieval quality, and failure modes, including quiet ones such as a retrieval miss that produces a fluent but wrong answer.\n\n - Make our metrics defensible to external test and evaluation reviewers. “We think it’s good” is not a deliverable.\n\n\nDATA & PIPELINE OWNERSHIP\n\n - Own ingestion, versioning, and lineage for logistics and doctrinal data drawn from a heterogeneous set of authoritative sources.\n\n - Build and operate embedding and feature pipelines, incremental indexing, and the unglamorous systems that keep a retrieval index fresh.\n\n - Build the human-in-the-loop infrastructure: confidence-scored routing, review queues, and feedback capture that improves the next model.\n\n\nSECURE & ACCREDITED DEPLOYMENT \n\n - Deploy and operate ML systems in IL5 and IL6 environments, including air-gapped or restricted-network enclaves. Build the release, observability, artifact-management, and incident-response workflows those environments require.\n\n - Support ATO and continuous-authorization work with implementation evidence tied to applicable security controls (NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, CMMC Level 2, FIPS 140-3, and RMF/eMASS).\n\n - Handle CUI and classified data correctly without being asked twice.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n\n\nSTRONG PLATFORM & INFRASTRUCTURE SKILLS\n\n - 5+ years in MLOps, ML platform, or infrastructure engineering, including meaningful time working on systems with real users.\n\n - Strong Python skills and comfort in a production codebase, not just notebooks.\n\n - Deep Kubernetes and containerization experience, plus infrastructure as code.\n\n - Production experience with AWS ML/Azure infrastructure (SageMaker, EKS, or equivalent).\n\n - Hands-on GPU infrastructure experience: scheduling, utilization, memory sizing, and cost.\n\n - Hands-on experience deploying and operating production software in IL5 or IL6 environments, including disconnected or restricted-network deployments.\n\n\nPRODUCTION ML JUDGMENT \n\n - You have shipped an LLM or ML system to production and then had to keep it working. You know what breaks.\n\n - You have built evaluation and monitoring for ML systems rather than adopting a vendor dashboard and hoping.\n\n - You can reason about where a pipeline’s quality actually comes from and say so when a metric is measuring the wrong thing. \n\n\nOWNERSHIP\n\n - You are comfortable with ambiguity and owning a domain end to end. This is a small team; there is no one to hand the pager to.\n\n - You are willing to learn the mission domain. The engineers who do best here become genuinely interested in the logistics problem itself.\n\n\n\n\nNICE TO HAVE \n\n - Clearance: Preferred\n\n - LLM serving and inference optimization (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, quantization, prefix caching).\n\n - Retrieval-grounded systems in production: hybrid retrieval, re-ranking, index freshness, and citation quality.\n\n - Edge, on-premises, or disconnected deployment.\n\n - Experience supporting ATO, continuous authorization, or production operations in classified environments.\n\n - Defense, intelligence, or another accredited or regulated environment.\n\n - Palantir Foundry, PostgreSQL/pgvector, NATS/JetStream, or ArgoCD.\n\n - A degree in CS, engineering, or a related technical field, or the equivalent built the hard way.\n \n\n\n\nMISSION AND IDENTITY\n\nWe are building the system that enables faster, smarter logistics decisions in contested environments, and we're doing it with a team of seasoned entrepreneurs, operators, and technologists who have built and scaled solutions in this space before. We hold ourselves to an extremely high standard. We value clear thinking, direct communication, and the kind of ownership that doesn't stop until something actually works.\n\nOur mission is to create decision advantage when the stakes are the highest.

Gallatin is hiring a Mission Development Manager — Air Force & Space Force to drive adoption of its Navigator platform across a mission landscape supported by more than $50 billion in annual operating-force investment. This person will help the Air Force and Space Force address consequential challenges in maintenance, sustainment, logistics, readiness, mobility, and contested operations.

This is a full-cycle growth role—not an account-management or proposal-coordination position. You will identify high-value mission problems, create net-new opportunities, build relationships with operational and acquisition stakeholders, and lead complex pursuits from initial discovery through award. You will be expected to understand how the Air Force and Space Force operate, translate mission needs into executable opportunities, and position Gallatin’s Navigator platform against consequential logistics, readiness, sustainment, and operational-planning challenges.

Success requires equal parts mission credibility, enterprise sales discipline, acquisition fluency, and personal initiative. You will work closely with Gallatin’s Product, Engineering, Solutions, Engagement Management, Capture, and executive teams, but you will remain accountable for developing the territory, creating qualified pipeline, advancing opportunities, and delivering bookings.

Every hour spent chasing information or moving it between tools is an hour someone can't spend on the work they were hired to do. This role exists to remove that overhead.

As the Applied AI Engineer, Internal Systems you'll own the engineering behind the AI tools Gallatin uses to run the company. You'll work alongside the Internal AI Operations Product Manager to shape solutions, with the technical design and implementation in your hands. You'll also own deployment and reliability. Your users will be your colleagues. Work together with them to understand the bottlenecks, connect information across internal tools, and build agents that carry tasks through to completion.

What You'll Build

Projects could include an entire coding agent harness, an assistant that answers questions from internal documents with sources and access controls, an agent-native CRM custom to Gallatin’s defense business, or an agent that keeps project status current across the systems teams already use. You'll help the product manager scope these projects by assessing technical feasibility and the cost of building and maintaining them.

You'll own the engineering from first prototype through production:

What We’re Looking For

You've shipped software people use and maintained it after launch. You can turn an unclear problem into a technical plan and ship a useful first version.

Experience building internal tools, evaluating AI outputs, or integrating business systems would help.

Your First 90 Days

Work with the Internal AI Operations Product Manager to choose an initial workflow with a team that will use it. Establish a baseline together. Own the technical design and ship a working version with evaluations and observability, then improve it through regular use. By day 90, we should know whether it saves time and meets the team's quality bar, with a plan to keep it working.

About the Role

We’re looking for an AI Engineer – Decision & Optimization Systems to own the feasibility, authority, and constraint layers that sit between AI reasoning and real-world execution.

In this role, you will build the systems that decide what plans are allowed to exist before any optimizer, agent, or human can act on them. Your work ensures that AI-generated logistics plans respect command hierarchy, policy, safety, and operational reality—so when we execute, we execute correctly.

You'll partner closely with routing, packing, optimization, and AI-agent teams to turn intent, authority, and uncertainty into decision systems that are auditable, enforceable, and explainable.
