Mastra has a highly capable engineering team, and our pace of development has sometimes meant that design has had to catch up.
Our platform and studio have been designed mostly by our engineering team. They look pretty, but we don’t have a standardized set of interaction patterns, nor have we really ironed out these flows until they shine.
That’s your job.

About Mastra

Mastra is the open-source TypeScript framework for building AI agents. Built by the team behind Gatsby, backed by Y Combinator and Spark Capital, with $35M raised total. We went from 0 to 27k+ stars and 1M+ weekly npm downloads in under 18 months.

Small team, shipping fast, fully remote. Most of us work across North American and European time zones.

They look pretty, but we don’t have a standardized set of interaction patterns, nor have we really ironed out these flows until they shine.\nThat’s your job.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\n\n - Develop a deep understanding of the Mastra framework and platform, including how different features work together and which interaction patterns best support each use case.\n\n - Watch screen recordings, talk to users, watch recordings, figure out where people are getting stuck and what's confusing for them.\n\n - Continuously research emerging interaction patterns, developer tools, and best-in-class products to inform your work.\n\n - Think from the perspective of a developer and identify the highest-impact opportunities to improve the user experience across Mastra Studio and the Mastra Cloud platform.\n\n - Work closely with the product team to understand the roadmap, clarify requirements, and address the most important user problems.\n\n - Build and maintain a robust design system in Figma, working closely with the front-end team to ensure consistency across Storybook and the implemented product.\n\n - Figure out how to simplify the Figma-to-code workflow to accelerate prototyping, and reduce the gap between design and implementation.\n\n\nABOUT YOU\n\n - You have at least four years of experience designing software products. Alternatively, you have a strong track record in an adjacent discipline, such as brand or web design, and have recently transitioned into product and UX design.\n\n - You have experience building and maintaining design systems. Mastra's design system is lean and lightweight, but it supports many surfaces and needs to evolve quickly.\n\n - You've worked with developer products before, and you have some understanding of the nuances of agentic products as well.\n\n - You're able to communicate and collaborate well and iterate quickly in a remote / somewhat async culture. You need to be able to propose and sometimes implement iterative fixes without stopping the world while you're figuring out the answer.\n\n - You're able to work through a problem until you've figured out all the different things that simultaneously need to be true of the solution, and craft one accordingly.\n\n\nABOUT MASTRA\n\nMastra is the open-source TypeScript framework for building AI agents. We’re hiring an agent-pilled TypeScript developer who can help us put qualified meetings on the calendar of our sales team.

We have a lead database of over 50,000 Mastra users and constantly run outbound campaigns to them. We need your help to run some of these campaigns and talk to our users that have real-world projects and commercial intent. Then: figure out which ones should be talking to the sales team.

Qualified meetings and pipeline are core outputs. Helping a builder onboard or escalating their issues to the right team at Mastra counts too. We measure relevant conversations and qualified opportunities, not raw activity or meeting volume. You need the technical credibility and commercial judgment to know the difference.

Customer-facing experience helps, but customer-facing skills are what’s required.

You will help builders and create sales opportunities

You’re a developer who likes talking to people

You’ll become an expert in production agents

In this role, you’ll see more agent projects in months than most see in years. You’ll work with devs across industries and build deep expertise in building sophisticated agent systems.

This isn’t an SDR-to-AE track. The role can grow toward customer engineering, solutions, growth engineering, partnerships, DevRel, or technical sales.

How to Apply

No resume or cover letter. Send us (see the application form):

  1. Your LinkedIn, GitHub, and any relevant social profiles.

  2. A link to something you built. In fewer than 75 words, explain what it does and one technical decision you made.

  3. Find an engineer building an agent project that could use Mastra. Tell us how you found them, what signal you noticed, and the message you’d send them in under 50 words.

  4. Something you took from manual to automated. Explain the process and the decisions behind your design.
