everyone,
Over the last year, I\u2019ve been working on building EchoVault. EchoVault is an in-memory data store that is both client-server over TCP and completely embeddable within a Go application:
Current Features:\n1) TLS and mTLS support for multiple server and client RootCAs.\n2) Replication cluster support using the RAFT algorithm.\n3) ACL Layer for user Authentication and Authorization.\n4) Distributed Pub/Sub functionality with consumer groups.\n5) Sets, Sorted Sets, Hashes, Lists and more.\n6) Persistence layer with Snapshots and Append-Only files.\n7) Various Key Eviction Policies.\n8) Command extension via shared object files.\n9) Command extension via embedded API.
There are many more features in the pipeline, such as:
1) Sharding\n2) Streams\n3) Bitmap\n4) HyperLogLog\n5) Lua Modules
EchoVault is fully RESP compatible over TCP, so you can use your existing Redis clients to communicate with an EchoVault server.
Why does this exist?\nHere are some of the reasons I decided to build EchoVault:
1) Redis is lightweight but still an external service you must run. EchoVault allows you to embed an in-memory store offering a subset of Redis functionality embedded into your application, so you don\u2019t have to worry about managing a separate service.
2) EchoVault removes the need to handle a Redis replication cluster. The embedded instances of EchoVault can connect to form a cluster with a simple configuration. So, each instance of your application can use the embedded API while EchoVault takes care of the replication for you.
3) Since Redis\u2019 license shenanigans earlier this year, I believe EchoVault will be able to fill a role, particularly in the Go ecosystem. EchoVault is Apache 2.0 licenced.
4) EchoVault aims to make Redis redundant in many use cases where Redis would usually fit in Go applications or ecosystems. Over time, we aim to make this list of use cases longer and longer.
Possible user cases for EchoVault\nYou can use EchoVault in many of the same scenarios you\u2019d use Redis, including but not limited to:
1) Service discovery.\n2) In-memory data caching.\n3) Session management (across multiple instances of your application).\n4) Publish/Subscribe workflows\n5) Unordered key/value storage.
Check out the GitHub repository, and feel free to leave a start if you like the project: https://github.com/EchoVault/EchoVault

I often run into systems that can send email but cannot call a webhook directly
I built a tool that creates an opaque email address <mailboxId>@hook.echovalue.dev and forwards inbound messages as structured JSON to a configured endpoint. It can also call a webhook from a cron schedule, so small scheduled jobs do not need their own worker
There are built-in formats for Slack, Discord, Teams, Telegram and custom JSON templates.
Pricing is pay-as-you-go and intentionally low. It is mostly there as an abuse limit rather than a subscription model

My background: I've got a degree in engineering management w/ a specialization in Industrial Engineering. I've been in the software/hardware world for 6 years. I started in aerospace as what can only be translated loosely as a "Solutions Engineer" which was a unheard of rarity, my co-workers were grey beard engineers called back from retirement. After a few years there I went on to a Big 4 Management Consulting firm. I did a lot of Project Management IT stuff in the finance and health care sector for just over a year.
Now I work at a web agency where I'm the "technical project manager," "devops" and cranky IT guy.
Here's my challenge: I'm trying to leave Washington DC to move to San Fran, Austin, or Portland. I've been actively trying to get a job in one of these cities for the past 5 months. I've had some really great interviews in the beginning with some more mature startups and other mid sized companies. For the past 2.5 months I can't get a single person to respond to my applications.
My skills thus far (Python, Django and Bash): Several web scrapers, load testing via Locust, I run my own set on Mezzanine (Django project), I've got another site for a wedding that runs on Django and uses some CBV for RSVPing to the wedding, as well as a JS integration with Echonest.
Last night I applied to what I only later realized was a dev director position, there wasn't much of a hint to writing code but I caught it after I applied. I continuously find myself attracted to this position and only wishing I could have those type of positions.
Today I realized maybe I should go to code school boot camp.
My Ask:
1. Does anyone have an opinion/experience similar to this?\n2. Is this a really bad idea?\n3. Any recommendations on schools?

Extreme simplicity: \nThe "WiSaw" app has only 2 screens. The more complex the app gets, the easier it becomes for the business to manipulate the users behavior and the data they provide. We believe that "Less is More".
Absolute privacy:\nIt's achieved by never asking a user for any personal information (not even login). There is no data -- there is nothing to leak. All data we collect is short lived -- everything disappears from the system after short while -- again, this makes it difficult to leak the data which we do not have.
Complete transparency (product):\nTo make a software product useful and interesting for the users, it does need to have access to some data. All data we collect is public. Everyone can see and do everything with it -- there are no special roles and permissions. We do not moderate any of the content the users upload -- we believe in the power of the community to do the right thing. If anyone finds some content to be offensive, they can simply delete it, which will also improve the quality of the data for everyone else.
Complete transparency (company):\nHow do you know, we are not lying to you? Simple -- every line of code we write is published to the OpenSource repository in GitHub. Check it out: https://github.com/echowaves
