About the Role

We're hiring Software Engineers for our Enterprise team to build the surfaces our customers depend on — dashboards, admin tooling, billing and spend management, analytics, onboarding, and many other user-facing features that turn OpenRouter into a platform. About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the unified interface for LLMs. We route billions of tokens every month, helping developers and enterprises access, manage, and optimize their AI use across 200+ models and providers — without worrying about lock-in, capacity constraints, downtime, or complex integrations.

Our provider ecosystem — the model labs, inference services, and hardware platforms behind the marketplace — is what makes that possible. New providers reach out constantly, and every conversation is a chance to add supply, diversity, and reliability to the platform.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Partner Development Manager to own the long tail of new and inbound provider conversations and turn them into live integrations. Right now, inbound interest (Twitter/LinkedIn pings, “what’s interesting, what are you providing?” intros) outpaces our capacity to action it. Your job is to be the person who “just goes and does things” — qualifying, scoping, and driving hands-on onboarding so no promising provider slips through the cracks.

This is a tactical, high-velocity, low-ego execution role and the fastest way to learn partnerships from the inside. You’ll talk to providers all day, get technical enough to unblock their integrations, and work across Product, Engineering, and Support to get them shipped.

Own the front door for new provider interest — respond to inbound across channels, run first conversations (“what are you providing, what’s interesting about it?”), and quickly separate high-signal opportunities from noise.\n\n - Source the long tail. Proactively find and reach out to emerging model developers, inference platforms, and GPU/accelerator providers to expand OpenRouter’s supply diversity.\n\n - Drive hands-on onboarding. Take qualified providers from first call to live integration — scoping, coordinating technical setup, checking metadata and pricing accuracy, and unblocking issues as they come up.\n\n - Be technical enough to move fast. About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the unified interface for LLMs. We route billions of tokens every month, helping developers and enterprises access, manage, and optimize their AI use across 400+ models and providers — without worrying about lock-in, capacity constraints, downtime, or complex integrations.

Our provider ecosystem is the foundation of that marketplace. As the number of model labs and inference providers we work with grows, the relationships behind them have to scale like a product — with consistent tiers, lifecycles, and standards — not as a set of one-off deals.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Program Manager to turn our Provider Program into a product. Today, provider relationships are managed one at a time; your job is to give them a repeatable structure so the ecosystem scales without adding headcount for every new partner.

You’ll own the standard provider lifecycle end to end — sourcing, onboarding, activation, QBR, and renewal — along with provider tiering (our “buckets”), SLAs, and the compliance cadence that keeps the program trustworthy. You’ll be the one person with context across every partnership, able to run program-wide operations (re-paper all providers, roll out a new compliance attestation, launch a new tier) without pulling individual partnership owners off their accounts.

You’ll also run our flagship programs, starting with MPEAP (Model Provider Early Access Program) and our verified/certified provider tracks. This is a high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Security.

Define and operate the standard path from sourcing → onboarding → activation → QBR → renewal, with clear stage gates, owners, and SLAs.\n\n - Design provider tiering. Build and maintain the tiering framework (the “buckets”) that determines how providers are classified, what they get, and what’s expected of them.\n\n - Build programmatic structure that scales. Turn one-off relationships into repeatable systems — templates, playbooks, self-serve onboarding, and automated provider comms — so the program grows without linear headcount.\n\n - Run cross-program operations. You take end-to-end ownership, move fast, and thrive in a small, fast-moving team with intentionally fluid boundaries.\n\n - Strong written communication. About the Role

OpenRouter grows because developers find it, try it, and route more of their work through it. More than 10 million users and 250k+ apps process 200T+ tokens on the platform every month, nearly all of it starting in self-serve. You’ll own turning that reach into revenue: more of the right developers discovering OpenRouter, signing up, buying their first credits, and growing their usage.

You’ll run the self-serve growth engine: paid media and sponsorships, AEO/SEO, conversion optimization on key pages and flows, and the measurement and forecasting that keeps it all optimized. That’s roughly 75% of the role. The other 25% is partnering with our enterprise team as an execution and thought partner on demand gen.

This is a Director-level, player/coach role with a paid budget of $5M+ for 2027. In year one you’re hands-on: buying media, shipping tests, building the measurement stack, managing agencies. As the engine proves out, you build the team around it.

You own the budget and the agency/vendor bench.\n\n - Own the AEO/SEO roadmap for openrouter.ai http://openrouter.ai: classic organic search plus answer-engine visibility, executing with content, engineering, and outside specialists.\n\n - Run conversion optimization on key pages and flows (homepage, model pages, pricing, signup, credit purchase) in partnership with product and engineering, on a standing experimentation cadence.\n\n - Own measurement for all paid activity: attribution design, incrementality and holdout testing, channel reporting, and the quarterly forecasting and planning cycle for the paid budget.\n\n - Support enterprise demand gen as an execution and thought partner: MQL/MQA generation programs and the measurement connecting marketing touches to pipeline.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n\n - 8+ years in growth or performance marketing, including meaningful time at a developer tools, API-first, or technical B2B SaaS company.\n\n - You’ve been directly accountable for self-serve or usage-based revenue (signup, activation, and spend) as your primary metric.\n\n - You’ve owned an annual multi-channel paid budget of $5M+, or scaled a program from seven figures into that range, and can walk through your CAC, payback math, and the channels you killed.\n\n - Hands-on with the measurement stack: product analytics (PostHog, GA4, Hex, or similar), attribution design, and at least one incrementality or holdout test you designed yourself.\n\n - You’ve owned or directed SEO for a technical product, and you have a working point of view on AEO: what changes when the search result is a ChatGPT answer.\n\n - You’ve built and run CRO/experimentation programs with real statistical discipline: hypothesis, test design, readout, decision.\n\n - Player/coach: comfortable executing solo today and building the function (agencies, contractors, eventual hires) as it scales.\n\n\n\n\nNICE TO HAVE \n\n - You’ve marketed to AI engineers specifically, or you’ve built something against an LLM API yourself (bonus if it was through OpenRouter).\n\n - Brand campaign experience: OOH, audio, or major sponsorships, measured with brand-lift studies or geo holdouts.\n\n - Demand gen or ABM experience feeding an enterprise sales motion.\n\n - Time inside a consumption-pricing business (Twilio, Datadog, Vercel-style) where marketing was judged on usage rather than lead volume.\n\n\n\nIf you don't think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. As enterprise adoption of AI accelerates, OpenRouter sits at the center of how organizations operationalize LLMs across research, product, and production workloads.

The Role

We're looking for a Community Lead to become the heartbeat of OpenRouter's developer community. You will be the person our community knows by name and recognizes in person, the one who is always around, always listening, and always making the community a better place to be.

OpenRouter's Discord is already one of the largest AI communities anywhere. Over 50,000 members, hundreds of threads, and thousands of chats every week. It is THE place where people talk about models, harnesses, new techniques, and projects. Not just OpenRouter, but AI in general.

You are a community person first and a developer at heart. You've built with LLMs, you understand what AI builders care about, and you're fluent in the culture of the spaces where they gather. You will own this Discord and grow our presence across Twitter/X, Reddit, and other community channels, turning an already thriving community into the best place on the internet to be an AI builder.

This is a hands-on, founding community role. In the first 3 months, you will be the primary steward of the community, with the opportunity to shape how the function scales over time. You'll work closely with our DevRel and marketing teams as a complementary, community-focused counterpart.

Everything you do in this role should be 1:n. Instead of hosting one meetup, you create the event kit that lets a community member in any city run their own. Instead of answering the same question ten times, you build the automation that surfaces it once. Instead of personally moderating every channel, you recruit and equip a mod team that scales without you.

The focus is digital first, roughly an 80/20 split between online community work and in-person community events to start.

This role is not about selling or broadcasting. It is about presence, trust, and making OpenRouter's community a place developers genuinely want to be.

About the Role

Every token that flows through OpenRouter is a financial event. Billions of requests run across hundreds of models and dozens of providers, and each request carries its own cost, price, discount and contract terms. Behind the inference engine sits a money engine: metering, pricing, invoicing, credits, payments, payouts and the ledger that ties it all together.

We're hiring our first engineer to envision, build and own the dollar+token value capture engine behind OpenRouter's leading inference gateway, marketplace and rapidly growing suite of agentic products. You will be responsible for the robust and flexible platform that lets the business sell any pricing model it can dream up. Behind the inference engine sits a money engine: metering, pricing, invoicing, credits, payments, payouts and the ledger that ties it all together.\n\nWe're hiring our first engineer to envision, build and own the dollar+token value capture engine behind OpenRouter's leading inference gateway, marketplace and rapidly growing suite of agentic products. If you come from fintech and have a passion for financial engineering, this is your chance to reimagine an AI-first, agentic Money Platform from the ground up.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\n - Flexible pricing and contract terms. Any commitment size, BYOK pricing, overages, platform fees and per-seat pricing. Sales and CS should be able to test new deals without an engineer.\n\n - Automate quote-to-cash. Take a signed contract straight to a provisioned, correctly billed customer with no manual uploads. Handle POC and production contracts as separate flows. Build credit transfers at onboarding and self-serve credit grants for CS into our own tools.\n\n - Define the source of truth. Financial core that owns fees, plans and entitlements. Establish robust data architecture for internal and customer reporting.\n\n - Own usage → revenue. Every completed request is metered, priced and recorded exactly once, across our streaming spend-tracking pipeline and usage records. Reconcile what we served against what we charged.\n\n - Own billing, payments & collections. That means invoicing, prepaid credits, auto top-ups, refunds, tax/VAT, POs and spend-against-commitment tracking. It also covers the Stripe integration, failed-payment recovery and overdue-invoice collections.\n\n - Build the ledger, AP & reconciliation. Build a double-entry ledger as the financial system of record. Automate reconciliation across Postgres, Stripe, billing and usage data. Own provider settlements and payables, and hand Finance close-ready numbers.\n\n - Work cross-functionally. Partner closely with the Provider team on usage tracking, per-generation cost attribution and provider pricing/discounts, and with the Trust & Safety team on payments fraud and abuse prevention.\n\n - Treat correctness and controls as features. The system ensures idempotency of financial transactions, anomaly detection, auditability and least-privilege access for finance tools. Any dollar that can't be explained is a bug.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n\n - 5+ years building production financial systems: billing, payments, ledgers or revenue infrastructure, at a fintech or a usage-based SaaS company.\n\n - Deep fluency in money-correctness patterns: idempotency, double-entry accounting, exactly-once event processing, reconciliation and safe migrations of financial data.\n\n - Hands-on experience with Stripe (or similar processors) and a billing/invoicing platform, including contract, subscription and usage-based models.\n\n - Strong TypeScript and SQL. Comfortable with Postgres and analytical stores (ClickHouse or similar) at high event volume.\n\n - Working knowledge of accounting: AR/AP, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, month-end close. You can talk with Finance in their language.\n\n - You work well across teams. You'll partner daily with Provider, Trust & Safety, Sales, CS and Finance, and turn messy business asks into clean systems.\n\n - High agency and AI-forward. You use coding agents daily and like automating away manual finance ops.\n\n\n\n\nNICE TO HAVES\n\n - You've built usage-based, hybrid or seat-based billing at scale.\n\n - Experience with streaming data pipelines (e.g. Dataflow, Spanner, Kafka) for metering.\n\n - Experience with payments fraud and risk systems (e.g. Stripe Radar).\n\n - Experience with multi-currency, sales tax/VAT or global payment methods.\n\n - You've helped get financial systems ready for an audit.\n\n - You're an existing OpenRouter user, or have built projects in AI tooling.\n\n\n\nIf you don’t think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. About the Role

We’re hiring a Software Engineer on our Trust & Safety team to own the detection, enforcement, and review systems that keep abuse, fraud, malicious users and illegal content off the platform. Millions of LLM requests and a large volume of payments flow through OpenRouter every day, and maintaining the safety, integrity, and trust of our platform is a priority. You’ll build the systems that detect abuse and fraud, the heuristics for automated action and abuse mitigation, the tooling our reviewers act through, and the guardrails that keep us from acting on the wrong account.

You will be responsible for proactive abuse-prevention architecture for a new layer of the AI stack while the abuse patterns are still being invented. The threat model changes quickly, and the systems you build have to catch novel abuse without adding friction for the legitimate developers and enterprises who use our platform. Done well, this work protects millions of daily requests, our provider relationships, and the trust that enterprises place in OpenRouter.

This is a hands-on IC role with broad surface area spanning the inference path, the payments path, internal review tooling, and the data platform underneath all of it. There is little process between you and shipping, and your work has direct consequences for real users, so the bar for judgment is high.

About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the leading AI routing and infrastructure layer that developers and enterprises use to access, manage, and optimize their AI use across models and providers. We help our customers avoid lock-in, capacity constraints, and unnecessary cost, giving them the flexibility to move fast, scale confidently, and stay future-proof as models evolve. We provide a single control plane for AI: one place to set policy, manage spend, and track usage, cost, and performance across every model and provider.

OpenRouter sits at the center of how developers and organizations discover, evaluate, integrate, and operate the world’s leading open and proprietary models. Increasingly, that access reaches end users through platforms that use OpenRouter as the managed inference layer for their customers.

About the Role

We’re hiring the first Product Manager for OpenRouter Connect. Connect opens a new growth channel by letting partners offer multi-model inference to their customers inside their own products. We’re building a platform for platforms, enabling any company whose customers need inference to integrate and distribute it with the controls and observability that partners and their customers need. Connect is how enterprise and developer tools put the full model catalog in front of their users without building inference, policy enforcement, or usage metering themselves.

You’ll own that surface end to end, working with engineering, design, and our partnerships and go-to-market teams. You’ll spend time with partners, learning what they need to serve their customers and turning that into a roadmap. You’ll own the abstractions that make Connect a product rather than one-off integrations.

This role is for you if you’ve built platform or API products other companies build on, have worked through the identity, policy, and billing questions multi-tenant systems raise, and know the difference between an integration a partner can self-serve in a day and one that stalls.

OpenRouter is the leading AI routing and infrastructure layer that enterprises use to access, manage, and optimize the best large language models across providers—without lock-in, capacity constraints, or unnecessary cost. We power the most advanced AI teams in the world by giving them the flexibility to move fast, scale confidently, and stay future-proof as models evolve.

As enterprise adoption of AI accelerates, OpenRouter sits at the center of how organizations operationalize LLMs across research, product, and production workloads.

About the Role

You own our compliance program day to day. Drata and Safebase are yours. SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, and the EU AI Act are yours. You'll report to the Head of IT & Security, and you'll run the program with very little daily management.

The controls are the easy part. The real work is getting an engineer mid-sprint to pull evidence, getting the whole company through training before the deadline, and doing it in a way that makes people take your next request seriously instead of ignoring it. If your ideal job is overseeing a program that someone else operates, this is not the role for you. We are looking for a strategic builder ready to roll up their sleeves.

We also work in a space where the regulation is still being written. A meaningful share of what you'll face has no established playbook, and you'll be the person deciding what a novel requirement actually means for our business.

That means hundreds of providers, thousands of endpoints, and millions of requests a day, in a model landscape that changes every week.\n\nYou’ll be at the front of the industry. Labs and inference providers want to reach OpenRouter’s users, so this team gets early access to novel inference offerings, often through exclusive and stealth launches, and gets them live on day zero.\n\nThis is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the VPE. You’ll grow the team, stay deep in the code, and be OpenRouter’s technical face to the labs and providers we partner with.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\n - Lead the team: hire and grow strong engineers, set the roadmap, stay hands-on in code reviews and incidents, and advocate for the team with leadership.\n\n - Core Provider: own provider adapters, the endpoint lifecycle, and routing. Be the technical counterpart for top providers, run day-zero and stealth launches, and work with GTM, BD, and legal to get providers from signed NDA to live in weeks, not months.\n\n - Multi-Modal: lead the expansion beyond text into image, video, audio, and embeddings, plus realtime and batch inference.\n\n - Benchmarks: own evals and inference quality, and turn that data into routing decisions and direct feedback that makes providers better.\n \n  \n\n\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR \n\n - 4+ years of engineering management experience, including at least one environment where you built or scaled a team during a period of rapid growth.\n\n - Strong technical foundation in distributed systems, API design, and LLM inference. You understand how inference is served (streaming, tool calling, prompt caching, quantization, throughput and latency trade-offs), how provider APIs differ from each other, and what it takes to route millions of requests across hundreds of heterogeneous endpoints.\n\n - Hands-on and comfortable staying that way. You write code, use AI-assisted development tools, and lead by example in a team where everyone ships.\n\n - Comfortable being externally facing. You can sit across from a model lab’s engineering team, negotiate an integration, and represent OpenRouter’s technical requirements without a PM in the room.\n\n - Data-driven about quality. You want benchmarks, evals, and production telemetry deciding which provider gets traffic, not vibes.\n\n - Proven ability to recruit and retain strong engineers. Ideally, you’ve built teams people want to join and you bring a network of talent with you.\n\n - High agency and clear communication. You don’t wait for direction, you identify what matters, make a plan, and drive it forward. You speak up when you disagree and back it with substance.\n\n - Pragmatic about what a lean engineering org actually needs versus what a 500-person org would do. You optimize for speed and clarity, not process.\n \n  \n\n\nNICE TO HAVES \n\n - Experience at an inference provider, model lab, or GPU cloud, or building products on top of many LLM APIs at once.\n\n - Experience with our stack: TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, Postgres, ClickHouse, GCP, or Vercel.\n\n - Background in evals, benchmarking, or routing and load-balancing systems.\n\n - Experience shipping multimodal APIs (image, video, speech, embeddings) or realtime and batch inference.\n\n - Experience running vendor security and compliance reviews (NDA, DPA, SOC 2) as part of a partner onboarding process.\n\n - Existing user of OpenRouter, or active side projects in AI infrastructure or developer tooling.\n \n  \n\nIf you don't think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. About the Role

Every request that flows through OpenRouter starts with a question: who is this, and what are they allowed to do? Millions of developers, thousands of organizations and a growing fleet of autonomous agents reach us through API keys, browser sessions, OAuth apps, MCP clients and federated cloud workloads. The credential formats differ, but every one of them has to resolve to the same trustworthy answer.

We're hiring our first Software Engineer, Identity Platform to envision, build and own identity across OpenRouter's inference gateway, marketplace and rapidly growing suite of agentic products. You will define how people, organizations, workspaces, apps and agents authenticate, what they can access, and how that access is delegated, governed and revoked, from a solo developer's first sign-in to a Fortune 500 rollout provisioned straight from their identity provider. If you love the intersection of security, systems design and product, this is your chance to build the trust layer that takes OpenRouter into the enterprise.

You will define how people, organizations, workspaces, apps and agents authenticate, what they can access, and how that access is delegated, governed and revoked, from a solo developer's first sign-in to a Fortune 500 rollout provisioned straight from their identity provider. If you love the intersection of security, systems design and product, this is your chance to build the trust layer that takes OpenRouter into the enterprise.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\n - Unify authentication. API keys, management keys, browser sessions, OAuth and OIDC tokens and MCP logins all resolve to a single principal with one authorization model. Own sign-in, MFA, passkeys and enterprise SSO (SAML and OIDC) on top of it, plus the full lifecycle of every credential we issue: scoped, expiring, rotatable and revocable.\n\n - Build delegated access for apps and agents. Sign in with OpenRouter, OAuth for MCP clients with dynamic client registration, and consent grants that can be revoked without touching the underlying key. Apps and agents act on a user's behalf without ever handling a secret, and admins can pin that consent to an org or workspace across a managed fleet.\n\n - Go secretless with workload identity. CI pipelines and cloud workloads exchange their own identity provider tokens for short-lived OpenRouter credentials under org-defined federation policies, and internal services authenticate to each other the same way. No static secrets to leak or rotate.\n\n - Build composable authorization. A single permission model where every route asks \"can this caller do this, here?\" instead of checking role names. Org and workspace roles, viewer and restricted roles, read-only automation keys and, over time, custom roles. Deny by default, enforced on the server and reflected cleanly in the UI.\n\n - Make enterprise provisioning just work. SCIM user and group provisioning, group-to-role mapping, domain verification and self-serve SSO that works first try with Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace and the long tail of identity providers. Partner platforms can provision accounts and keys for their own customers programmatically. An IT admin should be able to onboard thousands of seats without filing a ticket.\n\n - Define the core identity model. Users, organizations, workspaces, memberships, apps and guardrails, and how they compose. Clean boundaries, clear ownership semantics and a data model that supports the next five years of enterprise features without a rewrite.\n\n - Protect users and their data. Identity fraud detection, KYC and verification flows, step-up checks on sensitive actions, account-takeover defenses and abuse signals that stop bad actors without adding friction for good ones. Least-privilege access to customer data across every OpenRouter surface.\n\n - Treat auditability and correctness as features. The system ensures every credential has a provenance, every access decision is explainable and every privileged change lands in an audit log. Auth stays fast and highly available on the hot path of every inference request, with clear, standards-based failure modes developers can debug on their own. An access grant nobody can explain is a bug.\n\n - Work cross-functionally. Partner closely with the Trust & Safety team on fraud and abuse, with the Money team on payment-linked verification and risk, with Product on dashboard and onboarding experiences, and with Sales and CS on enterprise security reviews and SSO rollouts.\n\n\n\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n\n - 5+ years building production identity, authentication or authorization systems at a SaaS, developer-platform or security company.\n\n - Deep fluency in identity standards: OAuth 2.x (PKCE, token exchange, dynamic client registration), OIDC, SAML, SCIM and JWTs, and the ways they break in practice.\n\n - Experience designing authorization models (RBAC, ABAC or ReBAC) for multi-tenant B2B products, including migrating a live system from ad-hoc checks to a unified model.\n\n - Hands-on experience integrating enterprise identity providers (Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace) and an auth platform (Clerk, Auth0, WorkOS or similar).\n\n - Strong TypeScript and SQL. Comfortable with Postgres and building low-latency, cache-heavy services on a critical request path.\n\n - A security mindset. You think in threat models, design for least privilege and can explain your decisions to an enterprise security reviewer.\n\n - You work well across teams. You'll partner daily with Trust & Safety, Money, Product, Sales and CS, and turn messy enterprise asks into clean systems.\n\n - High agency and AI-forward. You use coding agents daily and like automating away manual security and onboarding work.\n\n\n\n\nNICE TO HAVES\n\n - You've shipped enterprise SSO and SCIM that passed real customer security reviews.\n\n - You've built workload identity federation or secretless auth for CI and cloud workloads.\n\n - You've built OAuth, consent and delegation for AI agents or MCP clients acting on behalf of users.\n\n - Experience with identity verification, KYC or fraud and risk systems (e.g. Stripe Identity, Persona, Sift).\n\n - Experience with policy engines or fine-grained authorization (e.g. OpenFGA, Cedar, OPA, Zanzibar-style systems).\n\n - You've helped a company achieve SOC 2, ISO 27001 or similar compliance.\n\n - You're an existing OpenRouter user, or have built projects in AI tooling.\n\n\n\nIf you don’t think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply.

OpenRouter is one of the fastest-moving companies in AI, and we're opening our first office in New York City. You'll set the vision for what it's like to work there, then build it. When a meeting room connects on the first try, a new hire is up and running before lunch on day one, or the wifi holds through an All Hands, that's your work.

You'll join a small team with very high talent density, where everyone owns big problems and ships fast. You'll report to the Head of IT & Security and have the autonomy to make the call without waiting on sign-off. How fast we move depends on our tools working, and in New York, that part is yours.

This role is fully onsite in NYC, five days a week. It isn't hybrid or remote. Walk-up support and office hardware need someone in the room.

The office is only half the job. From NYC you'll also run IT for a global remote workforce: onboarding, access, technical support, and a MacBook fleet across time zones. Some days the office wifi and an urgent offboarding will need you at the same moment, and you'll decide which comes first.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Nice to Have

IT certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or Cisco · familiarity with compliance environments such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or GDPR · experience supporting IT through M&A

OpenRouter routes almost a billion requests and more than 20 trillion tokens a day, across 80+ providers and thousands of endpoints. You'll sit on the Provider Operations team, reporting to the Provider Operations Manager.\n\n\n\n\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\n\n - Provider health and observability. Build and own monitoring for every provider and endpoint: latency, throughput, error rates, uptime, and output correctness. Set SLOs per provider tier and alert on them.\n\n - Detection and failover. Improve how quickly we detect degraded endpoints, and work with the routing team so traffic shifts away from them automatically.\n\n - Incident response. Own on-call for provider incidents: triage, mitigate, communicate with providers, run postmortems, and drive follow-ups to closure.\n\n - Provider accountability. Turn telemetry into scorecards and SLO reporting that providers act on, and be the technical escalation point when a provider's endpoint is misbehaving.\n\n - Quality regression detection. Build continuous canaries and evals that catch silent regressions (quantization changes, broken tool calling, truncated streams, pricing or usage-reporting mismatches), not just outright downtime.\n\n - Automate the toil. Replace manual provider-ops work (disabling endpoints, capacity changes, deprecations, rate-limit tuning) with safe, auditable tooling.\n\n - Capacity and launch readiness. TypeScript and/or Python.\n\n - Experienced with distributed systems failure modes: timeouts, retries, backpressure, partial outages, noisy neighbors.\n\n - Calm, clear incident commander who communicates well with external partners under pressure.\n\n - Understands, or is eager to learn deeply, how LLM inference is served: streaming, tool calling, prompt caching, throughput/latency tradeoffs, and how provider APIs differ.\n\n\nNICE TO HAVE\n\n - Experience at an inference provider, model lab, GPU cloud, or API gateway/CDN company.\n\n - Experience with our stack: TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, Postgres, ClickHouse, GCP, Vercel.\n\n - Background in routing, load balancing, or traffic management systems.\n\n - Experience with evals or synthetic monitoring for ML systems."},{"id":"3664588e-861e-4917-8be9-e4e443fafe13","title":"Director, Customer Support","department":"Go To Market","team":"Go To Market","employmentType":"FullTime","location":"San Francisco Bay Area, California","secondaryLocations":[{"location":"New York, NY","address":{"postalAddress":{"addressRegion":"New York","addressCountry":"United States","addressLocality":"New York"}}}],"publishedAt":"2026-10-23T23:31:56.810+00:00","isListed":true,"isRemote":true,"workplaceType":"Hybrid","address":{"postalAddress":{"addressCountry":"United States"}},"jobUrl":"https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openrouter/3664588e-861e-4917-8be9-e4e443fafe13","applyUrl":"https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openrouter/3664588e-861e-4917-8be9-e4e443fafe13/application","descriptionHtml":"

About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the unified interface for AI inference, giving developers and organizations access to hundreds of models through a single API.
